Ive got a Belbe, Corruted Observer deck. On one hand, people cant really tell me my deck is unoriginal. But on the other, a consistent turn 3 Ulamog isnt much fun for my opponents. So I bring it out only once a night to crush one game and then i go to something more tame

Also having just one of the many spells that reads " when you gain life, target opponent loses that much life" then Gary hits that much harder. Another fun 2 card mono black token combo I enjoy is Sheoldred Whispering One and Abhorrent Overlord on the field at your unkeep. You get to blink Abhorrent in with Sheoldred and get that many more tokens equal your devotion. I've been on that combo since 2013😂

As much as I love Frank, and I have a friend at my LGS that plays basically only a Frank deck and it's a counter deck, while if it pops off it can be a big threat Frank is realistically coming down after you've got your major cards out to take advantage of counters or your infinite anyway. Sure proliferation is nice but you've already got a win on your field. I find he's great with Superfriends myself, usually in the 99 of Carth the Lion but he can work as a commander. Being a chunky blocker who proliferates at just over the cost of some of your best planeswalkers is really powerful to allow an ultimate out of nowhere.

I've built Othari as Christmas present last year for my fiancé he loves it it is sooo terrifying when he gets his buff effects or etb damage with impact tremors. my most unusual deck is a mono blue voltron deck built around devotion with callephe beloved by the sea

My fav deck is my Goldberry, River-Daughter deck. I loaded it up with a ton of charge counter Artifacts, Sagas, and as many weird and unique counters as I could find in blue, and she is an absolute demon when she gets going.

Your super unique not popular mono black deck is running how many of the most popular black cards simply because they are necessary to make the deck strong enough to compete? Idk. I could just ask easily swap volrath with insert mono black commander and it would probably rock pretty hard with that 99.

When I first started Commander back in the day I built two decks that I haven’t seen anyone else play since. I built a Daxos of Meletis aura voltron deck and a Scion of Ur Dragon dragon reanimator.

Most of my commander decks are obscure commanders with maybe 5 or 6 being edhrec ones. I have about 30+ decks and most of them are pretty unique or are commanders that i kept upgrading or changing from precons.

Edhrec is just a tool. Tools are the subtleist of traps. Nonetheless I use it and my decks are unique.

Do you have a moxfield or archidekt link for your Otharri build? I've tried a few times but haven't really gotten a build to work, but the cards you mentioned all sound like they'll be really fun to play together

My sultai lands deck is a Nine-Fingers Keene gate deck and my god is it good

Manaless Dredge in Commander sounds AWESOME, but I am worried single colored lands in 5 colour will be clunky as hell

I run Jodah the Unifier + nothing but basic lands, so everyone can assume I'm trash, pile on me, then I lecture them for the rest of their game about assuming the worst of people based on their commander choice, thereby revealing myself to be actual trash after all.

Since the deck only has tap-lands, perhaps you should include the enchantment spelunking so that they enter untapped.

The commanders aren't in the top 250 but the rest are the top 99 for their colors.

I have a Grumgully Superfriends Deck that is really a gruul proliferate theme. Its crazy how big creatures and planeswalkers really make superfriends that much more viable.

well, i don't really want to play decks that are on edhrec that's #500 below or the meta here in the LGS, so i run an evra, halcyon witness, vogar, necropolis tyrant, and an imaryll, elfhame elite. kediss, emberclaw familiar + dargo, the shipwrecker partner is sill in the works.

you shouldve used agent frank horrigan instead of glissa for incubater deck. every incubarer gets 2 +1+1 counters on it when he attacks. it goes perfectly!!!

Precons and edhrec has really flattened the LGS commander experience. I'm lucky to be in a meta of creative brewers.

basalt monolith + forsaken monument is infinite mana. and they were already part of the deck when it was released as a precon!

My Ayumi, the Last Visitor deck is probably the weirdest thing I run. Watching the pod realize that your commander is a 5 CMC 7/3 with an (albiet niche) landwalk effect and your colors are mono green equipment deck where everyone is voltron because its either your horrifying commander or its infect will never stop being funny.

Small correction. Triskelion needs to hit itself for two damage because Mikaeus also passively gives it +1/+1, but the combo still works!

my whole play group is on the popular commanders train, but nothing feels better than winning with some unknown legend from who knows what set!!!!

Fun fact: mesmeric orb + aphetto alchemist = self mill For safety, put gaea's blessing in the deck. Besides, vengeful pharoah also good in most mill deck

Ironically, my normal "swing for lethal/commander damage" Naya deck is the strange one in my pod full of "I win the game" combos.

How do you feel this would do in duel commander?

Consider on your mono r deck switch to Solphim. I built one and we share very similar pieces, my group is calls pain stax. I try to dish out damage on every opponent's game action. And speed the game with x spells that damage players and clear the board. Anyways. Loved the ideas that you brew.

in the Otharri deck you can run the background which gives token +2/+2 if you have yo commander in play, it's better in a partner deck but still +2/+2 for 3 mana is crazy stronk.

Another thing you could do is make your friends build a pauper.. nice change of pace when games are getting contentious

My favorite under-loved commanders are Firesong & Sunspeaker and Kogla the Titan Ape. Firesong is an Earthquakes deck that really leans on the lifelink ability, and Kogla is a humans deck that does strong green things, backed up by the versatile and hardy monkey

I made a Jodah deck, but instead of trying to make it powerful, which it happened to become, I just made a Theros God tribal because it was my favorite plane. I added every Theros god, and their equipment like spear of Heliod etc.

Hot take. People are bored with commander because they're putting in every tutor they can and never have to think about how they can win. If every game is mull until I have tutors or a way to get my tutors then you'll be bored of the play pattern in a matter of weeks.

I’ve never seen another Shattergang Brothers deck and its my favourite.
