We continue to rely on human judgment in the ring (one referee) and outside the ring (three judges). I would like to understand why the referee did not stop the fight in the 8th round fury. Wasn't punching or responded to Usyk punches? This is why some sections are corrupt in boxing.

Not quite sure what u analysing. Ever sern a fight where d referee stepped in without d knocked out fighter hitting d canvas, and not for d purpose of stopping d fight ? Then doing a countdown? The fight ended in a knock out. At least Ussyk still won. Invesd ref.

2024 here, just reminiscing how scary a Prime Pacquiao was. He doesn't get touched if he doesn't want to. Probably the best Offensive fighter of all time, its scary how phenomenal he was. His head and body movement is the best ive ever seen. He gets up on his toes throwing from all angles. It makes ut almost impossible knowing where his punches are coming from. He was an absolute phenom!! Its crazy to think he would of done even more for Boxing if he left Politics alone.

i'm not sure i agree with the ref's also being judges. i'm not a big boxing guy, so i may be out of line, and if that's normal fine. but it's like how can you be impartial at both? but if they are able to do good job at both and this guy seems to be able to from what i'm hearing, i'll be the first to say way to go you did a good job. maybe it's a way to make extra money for them since i have no idea how they get paid, whether per bout as ref or judge or something else. having refs as judges might be a good idea also though in some instanes where if God forbid a ref get's hurt or has a medical issue. i'm assuming they have contingencys for that. again i'm not a big boxing fan so i hope i'm not out of line. this guy seems to be a striaght shooter and have earned a good reputation. if he can do both jobs well, more power to him. if that means his 1099 or what ever is bigger at the end of the year than a guy who only does one or the other but he's fair and consistent who cares. i dont' and i dont' think the boxers will either. there mayeven be some advantages to a ref/judge doing both jobs.
