I wanted to add built-in shelves to my home office but with wood being as expensive as it is, I did not want to pay for plywood. After evaluating the famous "Billy" Bookcases at Ikea, I had an idea to transform them into custom built-ins! I'm glad to say the idea worked, and I spent less than $300 on the whole project! Details on this project below.đđŒ For more projects, check out fieldtreasuredesigns.com/blog/

Awesome video!! How is it holding up after all this time? Thanks so much.
Thanks! Hereâs my update video: Garage Floor Epoxy 15 Months Later czcams.com/video/1RouFd5c4YU/video.html
Did you see the long sweep 90-degree elbow test. it produces better suction
I did not but sounds cool. I bet it does.
How much did this end up costing?
I canât remember. Not much. The cushions were the most expensive part.
Thank you for the video. One request: Don't use acid while wearing shorts and sandals! The chips are meant to provide some anti-slip that's why no clear coat in the kit.
Haha! Well itâs too late now! As far as the chips: my issue with the using chips as the final covering and used as anti slip is that they can crack or not adhere perfectly, causing them to hurt your feet or constantly come loose or break off. Thatâs why I wanted to use the clear coat with sand. The clear coat is also easier to clean and mop.
How thick is that plywood? 1/2 or 3/4s?
3/4
Good job, unfortunately I guarentee it fails within 2 years...
Thanks for the comment. Well itâs been over 2 years and hasnât failed yet.
GRIND
Yep. I gotcha
Your best bet EVERYTIME,is to bring the entire floor with a walk behind grinder easily rented with hepa vac system...fast,and opens the concrete so it grabs a hold...in summer that floor may peel up on your hot tires
Thatâs great advice. Thankfully it hasnât pealed up but I donât think you can go wrong using a grinder.
Great job of video and audio of the project. After seeing the end result with the black painted wall and units, I donât think thereâs enough light even from the sun that would encourage me to go black. Closets are utility and that means useful light.
Haha! That is a great point. I havenât ever thought about it being dark but now I wonât be able to not think about it.
Excellent job Andrew !!!!!!
Thanks!!
That blade is trash now lol
It got it done!
Thank you, great video! đ
Glad it helped!
No folding handle is a deal breaker for me.
I can understand that.
good video all the way through, very easy to understand the process
Thank you!
I am looking for projects to do prior to me moving into my new build. Since the garage will be brand new, would yall suggest to acid etching and such or just a quick clean then start the application?
I think either is fine. You might check with your builder on why finish they left your concrete with then make the call.
Nice end result. I am probably to conservative, because if it was my garage, I would probably have skipped the chips, but hey ... we all have different taste, so neither choice is wrong.
Totally agree!
is this slippery when wet? Thanks
Not if you do the clear coat with the sand mix in it. And itâs not slippery before the clear coat either.
Really enjoyed watching, by far the simplest build and utilized the attachment holders on the Rigid Vacs...
Thank you! Appreciate that.
Good job
Thank you!
Can other saws and tools etc fit to the hose on this?
Yep. With certain adaptors.
We just bought the same exact camper or as someone else just called it a tent trailerđ Where did you get the lights you have on the poles behind the bed? You all did an awesome job with your make over. Now we want to do oursđ
Thatâs awesome!! Here is the link to Amazon (I may earn a small affiliate commission off my link) amzn.to/3WV3Qx0 I hope yours turns out great!!
Environmental fines would be imposed in you if you in CA for this.
Good thing Iâm not in California.
Hi great video ! Were all the screws the same? You don't happen to know the thread, maybe it was on the instructrions ... Thanks for the video
Thank you! I donât remember Iâm so sorry!
I need one for my yard leaves. Let it sitting on the 80 Gallon green waste bin.
Woah thatâs big time.
How is it lasting in the outdoor weather ? How's the maintenance?
Great question. In the Colorado Springs weather it has done very well. The sun is definitely effecting the wood and I think I need to reapply a new varnish or clear coat soon but I havenât done a thing to it since I posted this video so Iâd say pretty good. Again we are pretty dry where I live but the sun is intense since we live at 6,300 ft elevation. Hope that helps!
Dude this was amazing. Thank you for this!
Appreciate that!
Great review, just curious how long did it take to pressure wash your driveway? About the same size as mine.
Thanks! It was about an hour give or take. At least I think!
Hey! We are some more Bacons and we just bought a pop up too!!
No way!!!
@@diywithandrew yep! Gene and Tami Bacon
We LOVE our electric fireplace â€â€â€â€
Heck yeah!! So do we
@@diywithandrew We have a Pure Flame Brand. And I canât figure out how to open the front glass panel, so I can get in there to clean the inside of the glass. Other than that, We HIGHLY recommend an electric fireplace insert. You just take it out of the box and plug it in the wall and youâre all set.
The two drains on the RTIC are because of the divider. When using the divider, you can drain each side individually.
Oh cool! Thanks for sharing that.
This tent should also have come with a smaller and simpler fly, so she could be used in smaller camp sites or for those times you don't need the vestibule.
I think that is a good point.
Beautiful job!!! So much good information.
Thank you so much. Really appreciate that.
Thank you so much!
You bet!
I might make one like that for my 6th year project in construction class
Nice!
I'm ready to do a similiar reno on an old Coleman Pioneer and i appreciate the detail in this video series. I especially like the process for the cabinet painting and new tops for the sink and table. Thank you!
Heck yeah!! Hope yours turns out great. Send photos via instagram! Same name.
We have our first trip coming up to Fort Wilderness. We have booked a preferred camping site and are taking our 22 foot airstream. We will need to set up a tent as well. I would really like to buy the Wawona 6 but I am wondering if it is too big for the sandy space behind the trailer spot. Can you advise?
Thatâs a great question! I think it might fit but the vestibule might make it too long. I would check dimensions but it might be close.
Great vid. Definitely learned a ton prior to me doing my own garage. Thanks!
Glad to hear it! Thanks for taking time to watch and let me know.
Good demo - thanks
Glad it helped.
âThis concrete etcher is dangerous, I can hear it hissingâ so letâs spread it around while wearing some Chacos đ No hate, Iâd be doing the same in my Birkenstocks.
Haha!! I thought the same thing. Appreciate you relating as well! đ
Iâm pretty sure Ron Paulk is a millionaire by now.
I hope so!
Is this using the stock blade?
It is! I've had the stock blade on this track saw for a few years now.
@@diywithandrew Thanks
You didn't use soap on ur car?
Iâm sure it was in the bucket. Maybe I forgot that time.
Is the soap cannon on yhis any good I just plan on rinsing with cannon and soap and rinse and that's it
I just got it today
Very nice
Thanks!
Iâve seen some videos in which two coats are put down before the flakes are sprinkled. Is this necessary? Seems you got away with only one coat of application.
There are a few areas that are wearing away with age so two coats would definitely not hurt, especially if there are rougher areas of concrete from age that arenât smooth. Iâve got an update video if you want to check it out on my channel as well.
13:25 hi man What kind of clear coat is this? I need it for my garage as well
Here is the link. #commissionsearned : amzn.to/3WqcPpB

Used to use an auto hammer to drive nylon pegs when I built U-Haul trucks. It was actually a good Job to switch to if you were doing a job with a lot of blind hand threading. I wouldn't want to do it forever. After a couple of days covering for a guy I tapped out. My hands and wrists felt numb from the vibration. You definitely want to switch hands after prolonged use.
Wow that is really interesting. Thanks for the comment.
Hello Someone may have asked but I still want to know if there will be tyre marks if cars are parked and driver daily. Thanks muchly.
Hi there. This video will help answer: Garage Floor Epoxy 15 Months Later czcams.com/video/1RouFd5c4YU/video.html
@@diywithandrew legend, thanks
How do you disassemble
Just do the steps in reverse.
2 questions: 1) Where does the heat blow out from? 2) Does the heat actually feel hot?
Great questions. There is a small vent along top front side where the hot air blows out. Yes, if you turn on the heat setting, it will blow warm air, just like an electric heater. Hope this helps!
@@diywithandrew Out the sides? Groan. I have an antique mantle - dont know how that would work.
