They had to bag the DFT to have the red, everything was going to be all white. Hopefully Virgin will lose the West Coast franchise

No they're not! Dunno why there is a new livery but VTEC 225 sets will run new London Euston to Blackpool North services because of electrification reaching Blackpool, they will run the proposed services from 2019 when they are replaced by the Azuma Class 800s. The Class 390s will be replaced. The Class 91s will be replaced in 2026 on the West Coast Mainline. Some of the Class 221s will be replaced as well.

They aren't scrapping them, they will just be replaced and transferred. Some 390s are staying to run London Euston-Manchester and Liverpool services. :)
Not sure where you get your information from, but I haven't seen anything to suggest the 390s getting replaced nor the Class 91s being transferred to the WCML for London to Blackpool trains. If you're putting it down to the Azuma replacement program, they're only replacing the old ECML and GWML stock, and the WCML will not be affected. The reason the 390s have this new livery is because the units needed a repaint and Virgin decided to roll with this one.
Fringe Stalin - Class 91s will stay for a while on the WCML after the Azumas take over the ECML replacing HSTs and 225 sets. Class 91s are coming to the WCML in 2019 and new fleet replace some of those as well as the 390s. Class 222s will be replaced first but some need to stay for North Wales services.

Excellent Neil. I looked at this location on Google Maps a couple of years ago but never visited to have a look. That green fence must be relatively new, did you need steps? I think I'll have to give this spot a try as that's a great southbound shot. Cheers, Steve.

Ditto - good spot. I was on the Heathrow Express last week which passes Old Oak Common? and there are many classics loitering about ie 47's and 57's - a welcome relief from the ubiquitous metal tubes one sees all the time now
