You are correct about the single battery in the 1st gen Dodge diesel trucks. They used a group 31 battery. The group 31 is considered a commercial battery. The 2nd gen trucks used two group 78 batteries. Napa sells a 1000 CCA group 31 battery. It weighs more than 60 lbs.

I just purchased a 1952 m38 last week as a surprise for my grandfather whose a Korean War veteran. When I showed up to the house with it on the trailer he was ecstatic and brought back a bunch of memories. Sadly it doesn't have the original engine in it and has the F head, but regardless it's going to be a good project to work on with my grandfather. Nice video and have a nice day!

The turbo was not added for power, it was added to reduce the smoke. The power difference in them is only 5hp.
