I hate this kind of drama.not every bad things deserve a forgiveness.

Some spoiler... The ending is open ended. Though it leans towards her forgiving him. But we don't really know if she still accepts him again in her life, just because he risked his life to save her. The writers should have let him die, to at least exchange for the cruel and evil things he had done to her and her unborn child. It does not excuse him at all for his wrongdoings in the past. It just means he is blind, ruthless and uncaring. And if the FL accepts him again, then she is not smart enough, and is actually foolish (just because she is a woman. These scriptwriters truly are men who wanted to degrade women to that level even if they already gave her a lot of abilities in the first place.) Even the modern gadgets/tools, her dance, her boots, become an everyday thing in this story about ancient past.. Anyways, the crown prince doesn't look as handsome but his character is wise and he also sees the things that were left hidden and forgotten. He was made the all seeing and knowledgeable eyes. He's a better choice as a man here compared to the ML who only got good looks but no brains. 🙄

If the bride appeared in front of the groom with bruises and marks over her body (even today), he’s going to reject the marriage🤔. Now, she may get some bruises and beaten from the groom and his family after the marriage😯 The groom may guess/think that forced was used to get the bride to agree to the marriage; however, he doesn’t want it confirmed…he in his fantasy world🤫. He’s her “gift” after all🤔

The thing with scumbags are they may look handsome but their looks degrade as they look stupid by character. Their idiotic character overrides their handsome looks. Their only plus point in these situation is their power/position in the society. Once the prince loses his position he is worthless / burden to others. So the ending in this actually needs a second part explaining how a DE crowned prince suffers being a commoner and asking for forgiveness from smart people.

Had to go and mess it up in the end. They almost had the best ending ever, with the fl moving on in her career and having a new love, but since its chinese movie ofcourse she has to be foolish, confused and willing to fall back with the abuser😒. I think the message is to always tolerate abuse as the woman. It's as if the society is afraid to show a woman who moves on successfully from an abusive marriage and so it has to be forced that she will stay with the scumbag, so long as he said he was sorry... This also goes to show that the directors and yhose who write these stories are men.
