I spent about a month in Ormoc. Getting married. Ill be back. Can't say enough about the friendly people. I got sick, the hotel people were checking on me. Whatever it was passed after a few days and I went to the hospital there for lab work. Very cheap BTW. Like $20. Everywhere i stayed the people knew me and treated me well. Its not the US. We don't understand incoonviences. Why is the Internet down? Whatever. It comes back on. We don't understand the paperwork or island time. Just accept and go with the flow. They got you.

Bruce, I have been watching your journey for a good year now and it was awesome to see / experience remotely. This overview was a good resource as well - very much appreciated. I am preparing to move to SE Asia in the next 6 months. Even before you said it, I was planning on getting an X Max (as recommended by a friend who lives there) because I want a decent amount of power, since I am 6'1'' 195lbs, on an automatic bike. Looking forward to whatever adventure you have planned next.

Samal has beautiful beaches the other one is in MATI Davao Oriental the beach there is one of the best in Mindanao after Davao maybe GENSAN the TUNA Capital of the world there are also white sand beaches in Sarangani that are not much visited

Samal island is the beach resort capital of Davao you miss the Grand Canyon in Bukidnon but Davao has a big land area the Philippine eagle and the largest crocodile are found there
