Got neck pain? Ever thought about work ergonomics
Yes, I’m giving advice to my fictional self 😂 but I think it has some value.
There are so many solutions posted on social for all types of joint pain, problems and so on
There is a lot of positive effects such approaches can be. However, an overlooked aspect is that of our posture, work ergonomics and becoming aware of how much time we spend inc certain postures.
Asking ourselves the question if we are overexposing our body to a certain position and if this may be contributing to problems like neck pain?
This is a solution of many regarding a rounded approach.
My intention is not to shit in corrective exercises, mobilisations and stretches. I spent a lot of time trying out exercises based on these outcomes but I was not able to feel better without integrating lifestyle approaches too.
We always have to ask these questions, look at context and consider different parts of our lifestyle that could be negatively affecting us.
All it takes is building new patterns to allow the body to rest from an over utilised pattern of performing.
I could go more deeply into this but I’ll leave it here for today.

This one is tough and can be very hard at first if you've never directly trained this position. An effective way to train your lower hamstrings and knee flexors. If using a Swissball, you also get the benefit of stimulating the tilting reflex as it creates an unstable environment activating the stabilisers fibers of the hamstrings.

This is a popular stretch from the ATG system/knees over toes community. An amazing stretch for the hip flexors most prominent in the rectus femoris. There are some key cues one must be aware of to get the most out of the stretch. These are pelvic and lumbar positions, as well as using contract relax in order to release tension.
Lying diaphragmatic breathing with book technique - tutorial
zhlédnutí 19Před měsícem
This is a technique to re-educate your nervous system to breathe from your lower ribs and belly. Many with neck pain and shoulder problems may find this helpful. Many of us tend to excessively breathe from our chest causing over stimulation of accessory respiratory muscles like the sternocleidomastoid. With this exercise, you will learn to properly sequence breathing using the diaphragm and int...
