no oil it’s white and dry

I don’t use oil. My finished hide is white and dry but that’s up to you. If that helps you sell them Id entertain using it.

@@TheRabbitryCenter yeah I do sheepskins usually and they always recommend for large hides to use neatfoot oil when breaking in the hide, I was just wondering why no one uses it for rabbit hides I’ve seen! I guess sheepskins could be white and dry without the oil but it may make the hides more supple?

@@TheRabbitryCenter Thank you for that info. A Rex rabbit is medium. Correct? My doe is a Rex mix and my buck is a New Zealand.

@@12BunsAndMeThat's correct a standard Rex is considered a medium breed avg weight about 9-10 lbs. Unless your referring to a mini Rex, those are small breeds 3-5lbs.

That’s a common misconception. Don’t be sad, rabbits are raised with cage floor bottoms to break the life cycle of cocidiosis. That’s why the biggest and best productions use them. You want the manure and urine to fall through the cage keeping your rabbit clean and disease free. Leading cause of Sore hocks is stress on the hock caused by a poor diet. No sir, I’m glad to say in Michigan we don’t have snakes big enough to eat our rabbits and using hardware cloth wire instead of 2”x4” cage wire is all we need to prevent predators from entering the extended cage runs. It’s nice to have a dog on the property.

I use eyelets on the trusses and I string, 14 gauge galvanized wire through the eyelet through the Cage wire and twist-tie looped wire. I then spin-twist with a driver to tighten/shorten to the desired length.

You have different options the more you buy the better deal you get but the rolls available in our storefront approximately 10 to 12 depending on how big you go. Certain cage wire like cage- floor-bottom, you’ll have to buy additional rolls If you don’t buy a lot of it

I specialize in backyard businesses and I don’t have any experience in import/export. But I’d start with contacting the USDA & FDA as well as the FSIS and the CBP and finally APHIS. Making some phone calls, emails and a little bit of work, you can find a company that most likely is already certified import/export animals. Best of luck!

3 weeks old. i would give a little to start out, and gradually increase the portions over time

it’s actually easier, the hide doesn’t rip like a fryer, but waiting means you’ll be processing a roaster which will need to be prepared accordingly.

Your rabbit should have a nice meaty oval shape with it slightly bigger in the rear end -the rear end shouldn’t pinch off, look for a nice rounded meaty end
