anything to eat out there? also I heard its private fisheries, can anyone just find a spot and fish?
You make it look easy
Good video, what flies do you use? Dry or nymth?
Good video mate Thanks!! Is your rod is maxcatch premiere?
What an upside down inside out world we live in.
Nice vid mate ,what weight gear are you using eh, just starting out on the fly myself, its the challenge also only a few hours fishing can be productive as you cover a lot more water than just sitting and waiting. All the best ,David.
Buen temaÂĄÂĄÂĄ......from Ecuador
I would try shortening the hook to weight distance. Probably 6-12". Tight Lines!
That's a really nice video. I spent a lot of time in Dartford and you have shown a while new world
SUB!! :) I like it, Which Reel Do you use here? Looks amaizng!
Great video, where are you based? I fly fish the kennet near my house but often blank đ
03:34 I just rewatched this and can't believe how clear Long lake is, I've been going most weekends for a couple of months now and its covered with surface weed, which is great for the carp, just not great us fisherman. I'm taking a rake with me next time to clear a path so I can float fish up near where you are.
Cracking video mate, really enjoyed it. Really appreciate the skill in your casting, especially as i fish a lot of small streams/rivers locally to me. A lot of specimen chub anglers wouldn't be cut out for this đ
rest in peace pal
Hey Dan, I was up there today (two swims to your left) and had a great time, caught a couple of small Carp, about 10 Tench and some decent size Roach, mostly on bread, rolled up on the hook using float. Love it down there, not going to catch monsters but you do catch, and thats what we all want right?
RIP Dan. Enjoyed your videos.
On all of these lakes I recommend over night and fish far out
What a super little nugget of fly fishing video! Thoroughly enjoyed it, a beautiful little stream with the sun playing through the branches. A super patient approach by yourself. Thank you for taking the time to put that together. Iâd be interested to know what flies you use, âifâ youâre want to share that info. Tight lines!
Just one thing mate, I dont see a wrong way to fly, you need to do what works for you and catching, so really its more to do with what you can do better :)
Excellent video Dan! Great footage.
Thank you đ
Excellent video Dan.. Yes your right Dan ,humans are so often horribly untidy littering everywhere they go..
Thank you đ
Great fishing buddy! đŁđ
Thank you đ
As far as you can go?...we crawled thou that 'tunnel' to south saxons... those were the days!... circa 1970's...hrs of fun!..best Martin...ex Blackman ave...the Mayfair of Hollington.
I might try and find that next time I'm around Hastings đ
Glad you have been out again . I crashed big time a few years ago going down the climb ,no idea how I rode home . Few paths for me to find a try.
Yes it's been a while, had to sit summer out mostly too as it was too hot for me. Thankfully its all nice and green again đ
Reminds me of my youth spent at Dartford lakes catching sweet Fanny Adams. I still enjoyed it though.
Love the old bike đ nothing like getting lost on a mtb ride all good fun đ
My inquisitive side always wants to know where a path goes that I've not seen before đ Exploring the old school way.
More very familiar trails. I hope you're feeling better. đđđ»
Much better after that đ
RIP, Dan. So sorry to hear of your passing. đ
nice bike đ€đ€ ride safe. best wishes from NY
Thank you for watching đ
Nice little lake I canât lie do u know the nuggets in there
Really enjoy your videos. It's so refreshing to see something other than Carp fishing which dominates nowdays.
Is that the river Darent.
where is this river ? name ? thanks
I can't give too many details especially as this is public but it is in the London area. Hope you understand but we have poaching problems unfortunately đ
Dan - try a longer leader mate - 10-12ft or so - I get 20/30 Rudd/Roach regularly. Give it a go, mate!
What tippet would you recommend? I'm currently using just 5lb fluorocarbon because that's what i use on the rivers. Also is a 12ft leader compatible with an 8ft rod? This is the only set up i currently have. Thabk you for your advice đ
@@dansreelswheels602 I use a 9ft 4wt rod - 3lb leader (9ft) & 2lb tippet (5ft+)âŠsometimes 4lb leader & 3lb tippetâŠsame lengths. 12ft leader plus 2 ft of 3lb tippet will be fine. 5lb leader seems heavy- thatâs more a trout set up imho! Good luck!
Nice video, hope to see more soon.
Thank you for watching đ
On the first day I got my fly rod I caught a few 10lb carp and a 14lb carp
some of my favourite beats
I've just realised something - is that you Ashe?
Great video mate! I know they take time to make and I appreciate the work you do. I love seeing the local waters!
Thank you for watching đ
Your my local dude ! How do you feel about surrons mate ? Great videos great music
Sur Ron? I'd love one, can't afford it sadly. It would help me no end for those days when i physically can't ride đ
@@dansreelswheels602 well me and my pal have one each and we go around the local spots if we bump into each other I let you have a go. Theyâre amazing on some of those trails through joydens even better near jjs shooting club.
Doing the lords work.
Proper tune⊠yes
Thanks for posting this, I live in the Western United States, and I mostly fish small streams because almost always I'm the only one there! I love how you were able to have such good luck in such a small stream.
Thank you for watching đ Yes we are lucky here to have not just one but three rivers like this đ
Get your self a maggot pouch that clips round your waist better than carrying a bait box and you can feed while trotting đ
Definitely, I'm on the hunt for one - now I'm using a waistbag with a plastic bag inside it, it's a bodge but it'll do till i can find a proper one.
Dark coloured flies work best in murky water! Weird - I know!
Strange isn't it? You would have thought brighter ones would be best - i guess they imitate natural food better.
Did you notice where some one has been trying to dig a hole in the Cray river bank near the start of the video 2nd time this has been done. Good video and route.
Hi, yes i noticed that - wonder what that's all about?
One of my favourite routes from Dartford to Horton Kirby. There is a way through, off road, instead of riding past the Chequers Pub. It bring you out on the other side of the distribution place and the lakes, across another bridge. This route used to be the start of some epic 30-40 mile rides round both sides of the Darenth Valley. Nice video. I'm surprised we've not bumped into each other round there. đđ»
I think i know that alternative route, i might do that next time - keep forgetting about it đ
Looks like my kinda exploratory ride! A lot of barriers to encounter! Great day out - How far did you ride?
I ended up doing 20 miles as i only had a couple of hours, quite a bit of climbing coming back home - i may well record that bit another time. đ
Good day out on the bike I love the River Darent always a nice ride đ
Especially when the weather is as perfect as that đ
First heard that tune in 1993 beautiful
My usual question: where is this?
This is Abbey Woods in South East London đ
Yeah I too love the bluebells and they realy put on a stunning display in those woods every year never tire of them đ
There's nowhere like it locally, it makes it all magical đ
