Richard started as an actor at Oldham rep. Leading musical roles include the BBCs ORION, Jesus in SUPERSTAR & GODSPELL. JOSEPH, TALLULAH WHO? (opp Suzi Quatro), Frank in ROCKY HORROR & Hero in A FUNNY THING HAPPENED..(opp Frankie Howerd),
As a writer, director and performer, his first show WICKED LIPS opened at the Donmar in 1988 to rave reviews and public acclaim.
He then wrote and directed Su Pollard in A SONG, A FROCK AND A TINKLE, and THE GOOD SEX GUIDE.
TV: COPY CATS, THE LAURENCE OLIVIER AWARDS (To Win An Award) THE RUSS ABOTT SHOW, THE LAUGHTER SHOW, TAKE THE PLUNGE. At the South Pacific Song Contest he won three awards for his song STREISAND GOT THERE FIRST!
He was the first and only person to have two musicals in the final of THE VIVIAN ELLIS AWARD. Sheridan Morley hailed him as "the find of the contest"
He has recorded three CDs of his own words and music AMONG FRIENDS, DARE TO BE GREAT and THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT YOU.

I’m a 00s kid but luckily enough the bbc decided to show it on CBeebies all those years later. It was such a beautiful show, and Auntie Mabel always felt like family in a weird way. RIP Lynda Baron 💔

PS: I don't know if Cbeebies ever repeated "El Numbre", which was part of BBC2's "Look and Read" for what I can remember.
