    2 Questions. 1. Where the origin timelines for each city come from? 2. Why would you separate Nimrod and the cities he founded from Numbia as if the people from Africa stopped at the Red sea and went no farther? Its clearly very plausible and likely for someone from Numbia to walk to the Middle East and farther. Why could Kish and Cush not be the same name just change after the languages were confused?

    "The origins of the word Canaan are a mystery" Did you even check the Bible? Google? Anything? "Cursed be thy son, Canaan" - Noah Historically, the Canaanites were a "Biblical myth" until archaeology finally caught up with the Bible. They thought everything in the Old Testament was mythology until archaeology caught up and proved much of it. Ur, Uruk, Babylon, Mesopotamia, King Nebuchadnezzar all considered "biblical mythology" for nearly a thousand years and now all of a sudden the Canaanites are so special that the Holy Bible is lying on them??? 😂😂😂

      The Jerusalem Bible, if you can find it, translates Elohim as "God" and YHWH as "Yahweh". It also preserves some other names, like El Shaddai and Elyon. It's not in print any more, so you would have to get a used one.

    So, when Enlil or Yahweh send the flood, it covers the earth with water, kind of like it was in the beginning. I've never heard anyone relate the flood as reverting to creation through the chaos serpent, though, despite the storming waters of death everywhere basically equaling chaos and sea serpents.

    • @InquisitiveBible
      @InquisitiveBible Před 25 dny

      Thanks for the comment. Within Genesis, it is mainly the priestly version of the Flood that describes it in cosmic terms as an undoing of creation, with the water coming through the windows in the firmament and so on. But the priestly author was probably writing in the Persian period, at a time when the Leviathan motif was no longer as important in creation theology.

      Egyptologist Donald Redford argues that conquest of Egypt by the Hyksos involved significant destruction (for which there is archaeological evidence) and was not a peaceful takeover. The Hyksos were Asiatics of unknown origin, but they were almost certainly from the Levant, and there are some material remains suggesting Phoenicia or northern Canaan. (Source: Redford.
