I checked the ping on the server right after this and it was 168, highest I’ve ever seen. They did a server reset right after though so a few people must have been complaining about it.

64gb DDR4 ram, RTX3060 graphics card and intel i5 12400F. This was an MSI prebuilt and I can say I’m quite impressed with the performance of it. The only thing I’ve upgraded is the ram.

hit IFF out next time you cant get a lock. IFF out will turn off data link contacts on your fcr and only show raw returns, then you'll be able to lock off your own fcr

It’s very good on multiplayer, the speed alone helps stay away from the missiles and not to mention they come off the rail at well over Mach 1. I haven’t mastered the A/G with this plane yet though, so much to learn to be competent in this game.
I was watching your radar altimeter….I wonder if we really need to dive so low to avoid the missiles. Perhaps going cold, and hard jinking might be enough. Low, but not that low. Next time I fly at night, I might try using waypoints to mark an area over that central river, that has lower terrain, and just restrict myself to that area.
I really didn’t think I was going to hit the ground in that dive, I knew the missile was close and staying with any altitude would get me killed. Thank you for the comment though, it’s always nice to know people are watching the videos!
@@vandervoort88 Never rely on your barometric altitude in IMC conditions. Always look at your radar altitude, it's just below your barometric on the right hand side of the hud. And when you hear "Pull up" that means PULL UP, like shear that stick off hard pitch up.
@@zbyskieI was looking at the wrong altimeter for sure, I didn’t think the ground was at 2,000ft. In the heat of the moment I missed the pull up as well, lots of things I could have done better. Thank you for the comment though.

I always keep the radar on, very rarely in the mountains will I turn it off.

Were you after low, or short? Very shallow flight paths make controlling the touchdown point more difficult. Just fly a normal approach and keep the flight path vector very slightly in from the end. You don't need any flare, and the aircrat will land a little short of the point you aim at.

I do normally turn down the radio and threat volume, I forgot in this video. I know how annoying the beeping is when you’re trying to watch a video.
I know how it missed, you fired head on aspect from less than a km on a target moving towards you, while rocking back and forth over shooting the target like you don't know what a rudder is lol

I guess it doesn't fit in with most players on GS, but see if you can stabiise your landing approach. Velocity vector near the end of the runway, about 160-170 knots, and power around 2,700 lbs/hr. The actual approaches are flown with half speedbrake, but I've found it works just as well to select s/b as I flare.
There's two of them working together. I made exactly the same mistake on the guns only day (but they still had Mistral). You can get rid of that MKPT DATA message on the HUD by selecting 'warning reset', under the 0 button on the keypad.
G-lock as you decend towards earth at a low altitude is not recomended.🤣🤣😁😁😢😢😢😢😢😢

I’m not sure. Mine is yellow unless it’s over a button then it turns green. Must be in the settings somewhere.

I agree, everyone on CZcams seems really helpful when trying to figure out different modes on this plane.
Before you take off, select guns dogfight, and then set vertical scan and the situation display HSD. Then go to missile dogfight, and set up the radar RWS/20miles/30º and the situation display to HSD. Then back to A/A. The displays will hold those presets when you select either dogfight mode.
I always realize once I’m in the air that I should do this on the ground, thank you for the advice.

More impressive was the deceleration from 800+ to 300... and you did it backwards. The only jet to take a bird strike in the rear... other than the A-10? Who new 826 knots wasn't enough?
You need to get that track Ir set up. Head movement is vital
I do use it, I just don’t move my head much until later in the video. I like the dead zone near the center of the HUD.

I agree that the pricing on pretty much everything for DCS makes it supremely unattractive, but you've obviously never seen a game or a PC from the 90s. I'm pretty sure DCS needs more GPU memory than the machines I was gaming on in the 90s had *disk*, and if I'd launched a DCS mission when I was eight, our PC at the time would still be working on rendering the first frame. Get off my lawn! 🤣😂🤣😂
What's your HOTAS setup? Do you use TrackIR?
I fly with the T.Flight Hotas X, I really need to upgrade it but I have the buttons as muscle memory now. I also do have a Track IR I just tend to not move my head too much when flying.
@@vandervoort88 Have you ever considered switching to VR? I can’t go back to flying on a 2D screen now. VR is so much more immersive and makes dogfighting so much better. Being able to keep your eyes on the bandit and maneuver in relation is huge.

Hey Vandie there's a BFM 1v1 arena server called DCS dogfighters thats pretty fun and good for learning. Those guys are pretty hardcore tho and be prepared to take a beating while you learn

How do you tell the distance to the target on the HUD
Bottom right of the HUD has F0XX.X
The "F" indicates Fire Control Radar followed by the distance in nautical miles
