GEAR REVIEW: Rab Inifinity Down Jacket
Just throw some hand warmers in your sleeping bag before crawling in for the night.
too superficial to be of any real world relevance. How can you compartmentalise all S/bags from $50 - $1350 by two types? Understanding the fill types and rating would be good.
If it's so warm, why u r wearing 3 jackets?
So this review was made 11 years ago and I'm wondering how the pad held up, do you still have it ? did it ever puncture?
I always thought you were supposed to turn sideways to the current rather than face the current since (theoretically) it lessens the force of the current trying to sweep you off your feet. Have I been doing it wrong all these years? Also, wouldn’t you want the hiking staff downstream from your feet in order to apply more pressure to hold it in place? Thanks for any clarification you can provide!
when you should change the filter on hiker? since you are not counting the Gallons?
Do you have experience with this sleeping bag Alpinelite in the fall and spring.. isn't it too hot to use? Thanks in advance

if u are naked under blankets or a bag your body is a much dryer and a more efficient furnace. This article is making assumptions and turning them into science or common sense or something but it is missing the important facts .The volume of air trapped in the space you are sleeping in gets heated better from the heat source( your body ) and stays at a higher temp if the source is not wrapped up and sweating in clothes . As long as the sleeping bag is adequate to hold the Dry larger volume of heat made. also the body is free to move and increase blood flow ( circulation).
Thanks great review
I love mine. I insert the outgoing hose right into my camelbak mouth piece and fill, super easy, you don’t even have to bend over, unzip or unscrew anything, just plug it in and pump.
Thank you for this review. Nice to see what it looks like after years of use. Good to be able to see the wear on it, as well as the fact that you are still happy for purchasing it years later.
Um dia ainda conheço o bioma taiga
Im 6.4 will i fit in?
Is there any difference between RENEGADE GTX and RENEGADE GTX MID ? Thank you.
My Renegades are getting worn at exactly one spot, the outer side of both heels. The first layer is worn out and a softer layer underneath is exposed. Can I do anything to repair that? If not, how long do you think I have before the sole falls apart? I've had them for 4 years and it feels like they should last longer than that.
This boots are made for ...
Why do synthetic bags not last as long as a down bag ?
thank you for mentioning my country Nepal.
He didn't mention one thing he disliked about the jacket 🤔
Thanks for the video. I'm about to get me a pair soon. What boots do you recommend for carrying 45lb on a hike?
A good question. I'd like to hear the response, too.
these boots are the top pick on cleverhiker for heavy packs. i've also read several reviews elsewhere of people using them with 40lb packs no problem. just ordered a pair myself and will report back after a 3 day backpacking trip on the appalachian
@@KLAEYZ how was it?
I have a question, Do you use clothes or not in a sleeping bag?
Good question . they never really say......I know for a fact that the body is a better furnace in the raw....just that there are other considerations when camping ...like having to get up in the fridged night . Its convenient of course t wear something.
I bought this tent and its not 4.11 lb its more like 6.9 lb with the bag and i regret buying it, its way to heavy for backpacking for a few miles i m shopping for a 3.6 lb tent.
It doesn’t filter viruses out...just found that out. Wish I had known BEFORE I purchased it....😖
I bought I new one and kept it in a polythene bag for one year and when I opened it, the whole of the midsole was damaged. why ? the midsoles are made with polypropelene material which needs a constant air supply otherwise it will be damaged. Now i have a damaged 340$ shoes and there is nobody in India that does the repairing of these :( so be careful with your expensive boots!
Are you going to tell us how much the tent weighs?
How do I take care of that leather? Thanx in advance!
Hubbard's shoe grease... The best in the business. And even smells like a campfire.
Just upgrade the bag, add thermal wear.
I understand this is an old post but details are important in future videos? "Super briethable"? Cold you quantify that in cfm airflow? "Super Breathable" by one defination might be 40 cfm. Neoshell could be around .1 cfm for just the membrane. The other factor is the shell material, how "breathable" is that? Each garment must be tested to get one in the ballpark for choosing it.
Size you're wear?
Great men@ for the last tip. Really works
it just astounds me that the comment "comes from nature" just rolls off the tongue, but fuck the animals that were murdered to get the down. why kill animals when we have alternatives. we go into fucking nature to observe yet we are so keen for animals to die to take advantage of them.
First important point is get off the ground
When the intro is 1/6 of the vid lol
Old video now, but I have a couple more tips to share. In cold weather eat fatty food, not just freeze dried stuff. Pine nuts are good for the trail. Digesting oils produces a lot of extra heat. Also, the thighs lose a lot of heat overnight, so wear warm leggings or put your legs into the sleeves of a jumper. Makes a huge difference. You can make thigh warmers from the sleeves of an old fleece, use mitten clips to attach them to your underwear or trouser waistband and you can use them under your trousers during the day too.
would this be good in Colder Climates, say climbing denali...if so what would u suggest a good base layer
How do you attach the hip belt to the pack?
Down is useless if you sweat or get it damp
Hey mot... ...ker 15 degres celcius or what, because Fahrenheit is usen just from small stupid places.
*Incredibly lightweight>>>**nub.best/7sts** you can actually make the overall package lighter by leaving those metal sticks at home. I used it a few times, fairly durable. Fits well for me and my gf ... but we're only around 5.7. I can see this being a bit too small for people that are over 6ft tall.*
I think they should be called Big Boy boot or Bubba Sticky Boot
*Economical and compact.>>> **nub.best/tx52** I purchased two of these tents for Helping Hands "Tents-Giving" event. They went to people in need who had urgent need for shelter. Thank you for having them on sale. I am going to purchase two more for next month's event.*
Piss bottle saves you making a dash in the night too. Guys only.
I know this is an old video but I just made my own on the same subject, would you mind if I link your video to mine are usually leave another reviewer link in the description of my videos so people can get two opinions. Would you mind?
Lowa boots out of the box are the best . The quality has got a little suspect the last few years . And yeah I can’t figure out for the life of me why the price keeps going up dramatically ,versus just in increments with the normal slow inflation. And the customer service on the phone is horrible , I spoke to a woman customer service rep on the phone once .and she could not give a flying shit about my shoes fall apart a little bit in the toe . I literally switch boots for the next few years because of that one conversation with her .but I had to come back because the Boot still is better than alllllllllllll the rest. But that phone call still bugs me till this day.
I use a 1 season + a 2 season sleeping bag in a bivvy
It seems this system of fleece liners and that deal that goes over the outside of the bag would be a hassle to crawl into and then I'm thinking if you have to exit very quickly that it would tangle around the feel. I use a 3 piece military bag. It's a little heavy but it's worth its weight in gold.
Like de videos! very instructive! so.... no more videos? are you alive?
i safety pinned a leaf bag and bath blanket inside and my son was hot in Jan in Idaho
Over priced to be honest.
