I got a couple tips for that. First off, check out the 'How to play Heavy Gear Blitz Basics' video that's in the description. It should get you up to speed. Second, take a look at the first eight videos I uploaded to my 'battle report' playlist. Each one of them has closed captions that specify the dice mechanics, tactics and such (The 'Show Transcript' button should assist with that as well). It should help you understand the game's flow better. Anyway, thanks for watching and for the sub! I might make a more basic battle video some time.

yeah, once you remember that every shot you make is not just about you 'hitting', but them 'dodging', well - fishing for critical failures becomes valid. Especially with AoE.

Plus, even a glancing hit with a high damage weapon can really ruin a model's day.

That thing is super useful, I'm really glad you showed it back then! The 1/144 scale maps it creates are perfect for both Heavy Gear and a bunch of other games. Made sure to include it in the video's description.

Yeah true. The LRG is more intended for the heavy armored targets which usually wouldn't have stuff like Agile. The 'Precise/Advanced' bit helps. It can be pretty fun to just aim at the heaviest dude around and go 'oh, you have 11 armor? Too bad'

Yeah, that's easy to get confused with in the beginning. While 50TV per CG is a good rule of thumb, it is not part of the rules. Instead, it's 1 Objective per 50TV.

Do you mean, the 'Stage' black rectangle doesn't show up on your module? I'd start by trying to 'Unsubscribe' the HG module, and then 'Subscribe' it again, to try and redownload it. Add a computer reset on the way. Maybe something got fugged on the way from the steam servers to your computer.

@@Metoollhead Yes the stage black rectangle. Ok I'll try that, but when I check the comments on that module, it seems others are having the same problem. its like the picture is no long supported or the wrong one is on the cloud. When did you install yours?

@@c3rber3s00 I guess I got the last update during August. Just checked to make sure it still works OK, and yep the stage + intiative rectangles appear fine on my end. I'll do a little extra investigation. In the meanwhile, I'd like you to try one more thing: Verify TTS' installation to make sure nothing's corrupted. You can do it by right-clicking TTS, and then going to Properties > Installed Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files.

Tactical retreats exclusively

Nope - the AP [Armor Piercing] trait in this game works in a slightly unique manner. AP:X doesn't ignore 'X' armor (since in that case it would be equitable to just adding base damage), instead it does the following: 1. It has a minimum damage of 1, no matter the armor. 2. Does damage equal to MoS (up to AP rating) or normal damage, whichever is greater. This is to simulate how the 'Margin of Success' expresses just how 'on target' your hit was. Imagine firing an armor-piercing bullet at a block of iron. If it would have just clipped it on the side, it would do little damage, dent it a little. But if it hit dead center, it would have done some major damage to it (and whatever's behind it!).
