I think that time management is also crucial. If you play a 15|10(15min + 10 sec. per move) game and by the end of the game have 14 min. you just don't give yourself a chance to find the best moves at critical point of the game. And the other side of that is if you have 1min vs 2min with 0-2 seconds incriment you're gonna find yourself under time pressure and might not convert your advantage or save the game so pay attention to your time management guys

I'd say Bobby Fischer is the greatest player as he was able to shift over soviet dominance in the chess world during the time of the Cold War. And with how many historical games he has made throughout history, like with the legendary fight between him and Boris Spasky, and him vs. The Magician, Mikhail Tal.

i like clearance sacrafice most. though i rarely have opporunities to play such tactics.

I get where you're coiming from on double checks, but it's my favorite because the best displays of it usually comes after a queen sac and followed by a brutal checkmate. My go-to example would be the *Lasker's King Walk* game. Brutal mate in 8. But still discovered check go *BRRRRRRR*

My Elo is around 1200 and its fine for me. I will improve maybe to 1500 once.

I already beat a lot of national master with the four knights game. I do not play ruy lopez or italian, because it is complicated and I like playing simple chess openings. And I have 2500 rating, so playing simples chess is not losing. Actually, I think intermediate players should stop playing complicated chess openings, like sicilian, pirc defense, queens gambit positions, caro kann or french and play the symetrical E5. And stop replying D5 to D4, instead go for Nimzo-Indian, Queens Indian defense and Bogo-Indian with A5 (Wade-Smylov Line) to avoid catalan on move 3. Also, stop playing D4, play E4 it is simple, if they play the french, you go for the simple advance variation. If they do the caro-kann go for panov botnivvinik attack and play the grishuk piece sacrifice. If they go for the sicilian, play solid with the alapin c3. If they reply e5, go for 4 knights game and play (A3) gunsberg variation, it is simple they play d5, you take, pin their knight, you get double pawns, then you play D4 and most of the time they push E5 which is a mistake and you win a pawn and the game. Easy repertoire, my tip to intermediate players is... stop playing complicated stuff, you are not a genius like bobby fischer or Mikhail Tal, play simple chess to improve If they go for the pirc or moderne defense, stop trying for crazy opposite side castling, play G3 and fiancheto your bishop (Sveshinikov system) and go for a simple and positional game

I experienced something funny as someone who plays queen's gambit sometimes, it's harder to handle when black accepts the gambit it's more rare to get into a position like that lol, and black can be perfectly fine after accepting it, the only difference with queen's gambit declined is prob just that the centre is opened

There are a bunch of variations with the Italian, I play the Italian and get crazy attacking games. Openings are just openings just like how you don’t play the Grob

It is so popular because it represents how good players play chess. It is completely principled. It's irrefutable, unlike "openings your opponent doesn't expect".

Close to 1500, got highest elo of 1571, although I can make brilliant moves, I’m not yet a brilliant moves farmer like the chess nerd.

I have 4 openings in my repertoire: If I'm white, I'd play the Queen's Gambit, if black plays d5. If they play Nf6, I will play the London System. If I'm black, and white plays d4, I play the King's Indian Defense. If they push e4, I play the Sicilian Dragon.

Italian has got to be the most basic opening ever bcz of that its still good. Keep it up. Remember Jesus loves yall.

I only play the Italian. Mainly because I’m always trying to play the Jerome Gambit because I think it’s funny. I always scream LEEERROOOYYY JEEEENNNKKKIIINS when I sacrifice the bishop.
