Gusty Torrential Thunderstorm (Hopewell Junction, NY) June 26, 2024
A line of strong to severe thunderstorms moves from eastern PA all the way through southern New England on June 26, 2024. This event produced scattered damaging winds, some exceeding 75 mph, and even an EF1 tornado in RI/MA. I pulled off of the highway when I saw the shelf cloud and found a Park and Ride to wait out on the event as I traveled west. Winds only peaked at 35-40 mph but they came in quick. Rain was blinding and lightning was occasional. Several others joined to avoid driving in the conditions.

Well I plan to add South Coast Rail once I visit those this summer, and I'm also 95% done with the Downeaster Route, just procrastinating on Brunswick... After that, if I find the motivation, I plan to expand out to New Haven then north to Springfield to also connect with Worcester. So in general I'll just keep expanding whenever I feel like it lol, and hopefully I can find a way to get this out to people for a profit since I don't want to just give away my work for free

It sucks they took all express trains on the Newburyport/Rockport line. There’s only 1 and that’s keolis 103 in the morning. Some of the others don’t even have express train service at all

I would just call them Empire service if they don't have sleepers because Amtrak's Maple Leaf, Adirondack, Ethan Ellen Express, Berkshire flyer , and Empire Service route are part of the Empire Service group
@@christopherreiff3192 yeah but the Empire Service route is just New York to Niagara Falls. While those trains do serve portions of the same line (especially the Maple Leaf sharing all of it until going into Canada) they have different branches to help distinguish their names
@@christopherreiff3192 I do understand what you mean though since it can just be all inclusive in the Empire State, mainly for the Maple Leaf and Adirondack. The Ethan Allen Express goes into Vermont so that and the Lake Shore Limited make sense to be separate.
