Kinds of Kindness: A Return to the Bizarre
I know I am a bit late, but I wanted to talk about Yorgos Lanthimos' latest film, "Kinds of Kindness," an anthology of three separate stories featuring the same stellar cast in different roles. Following the critical success of "Poor Things," Lanthimos returns to his roots of bizarre and thought-provoking storytelling, reminiscent of "The Lobster" and "The Killing of a Sacred Deer." While I am not a huge fan of Yorgos Lanthimos, I acknowledge that "Poor Things" is undoubtedly one of his peak movies and one of the most exciting films of last year. However, with "Kinds of Kindness," I'm unsure if he has reached that same level, and I'm conflicted about his reorientation towards his early career style. What do you think?

    Saying there is no bing bong scene as if it's an issue the second one is not a carbon copy of the first one it's so wrong. Instead delivers a much more relatable and stunning representation of growing up in a moment when anxiety dominates the mind of a growing up teenager that makes her forget the joy of life and instead focus on goal and doomer scenarios. It's a much more accurate theme for a coming of age movie about emotions. Have one emotion overwhelm others instead of a silly mistake that makes your sadness and joy lost in your brain with the core of your personality, feels way closer to reality and how situations can get out of hands

    • @zaratastari2457
      @zaratastari2457 Před 19 dny

      If you are referring to princess mononoke then you misunderstood what the movie was trying to portray. The movie didnt say industries are bad rather it existance is part of nature. Whats really the core of it was how the two sides begun to hate each other. Because of hatred the two sides had trouble to coexist. In the end of the movie even Lady maboshi who lost it all wasnt troubled when lost it all, rather said they just need to start anew. The princess could have just killed the humans or chased them out after the disaster ended rather she went out to find a new purpose. In the end the industries are going to be built anew and nature lives on. So you're one point about industries being bad could not be included. If you want to say the biggest thing Miyasaki dislikes would be war so if anything this is the only thing he vilifies heavily.

    • @LivVirtual
      @LivVirtual Před 18 dny

      ? you. you do realize that ashitaka, a MAN, is arguably the most "good" of all characters in princess mononoke? like san is alright with killing humans if it means it keeps the forest and forest spirits safe, and lady eboshi is alright with killing the forest and forest spirits if it means keeping her people safe, but ashitaka is the only one in that entire movie who wants to keep EVERYONE safe? its the same with every studio ghibli film. miyazaki has great CHARACTERS, regardless of whether they are men or women. and part of what makes a character great is not making them completely "good." even though san and lady eboshi both have had a hand in death, movie viewers are still able to appreciate what they stand for and sympathize with them and their goals. the fact that you've completely misinterpreted the message of princess mononoke actually serves to further the point jubilant is making. ashitaka demonstrates a healthy love and respect for san and the forest, traits that lady eboshi noticeably lacks. this is why ashitaka so willingly parts ways with san at the end of the film, because he respects that she has her own wants and wishes--none of which involve rejoining human society. yet ashitaka also leaves san with the knowledge that he would be helping the surviving humans build a new town for them to live in, a plan which san is shown to be perfectly understanding of. she doesn't oppose the idea of reconstruction but accepts it. because what san has learned throughout the course of the movie is that the conflict between industry and nature only existed due to overwhelming and intense hatred and disrespect. and who is it that san learns this from but ashitaka, a man? a man who continuously strives to save all life, whether human or animal? who prevents san and eboshi from trying to kill each other? who respects the two for the lengths they'll go to protect their own, but urges them both to reconsider their hostility towards the other, and espouses the possibility of a peaceful coexistence? like ashitaka is basically the embodiment of healthy love and respect in princess mononoke, so im not sure how you've arrived at the conclusions that you've typed.

      @@LivVirtual ABSOLUTELY THIS. Princess Mononoke herself is abolulutely fine with murdering any human she comes across to further her goals due to what she’s seen firsthand as a daughter of wolves. Ashitaka is the first human who challenged her idea of how humans valued her and her families lives, and allowed her to care for them in return. first time i had Nostalgia was like when i was 9 thats about when i started to have Nostalgia. I miss old ROBLOX. (mice on venus plays) everyone says they miss old ROBLOX and that it was better well um was it actualy better or is it just nostalgia well the ui was better and ROBLOX used to have copyright music and OOF sound and get away with it until like 2021 or 2022 when ROBLOX finaly got sued well actualy ROBLOX did get sued back in 2015 or 2016 or 2017 but it wasnt as bad ROBLOX replaced copyright music with copyright free music but there was still copyright music and stuff and some stuff but then in like 2021 or 2022 ROBLOX took it even more serious and went even more strict making it so audio longer then like 6 or 7 seconds is now private and no longer public and only official ROBLOX music can be pubic but what about games well now there are more but the older ones have broken cuz of ROBLOX updates and broken music cuz of copyright lawsuit also ROBLOX removed the OOF sound you can still bring it back cuz character sounds are local instead of from ROBLOX servers so you can replace the files but what about the front page games ROBLOX games that shows at the ROBLOX discover page tbh back then it was a bit better it seems way better cuz of nostalgia but actualy the quality wasnt really good and it was mostly minigame games roleplay games and other but what about story games? those got popular and went to the front page around 2017 to 2021 and story games are my favorite genre. also im talking about 2015 to 2020 when ROBLOX got popular and well its not really old ROBLOX but in this context old ROBLOX is 2015 to 2020 even tho its kinda more 2007 to 2015 anyways um ROBLOX now well most of the story games are still playable wait what about pokémon brickbronze? welli consider that a story game and its one of the more earlier story games but um anyways ROBLOX now most of the story games are still playable but a few that have a minimum player count might not be cuz story games died they still are popular but not as popular and there are still new story games like for example npcs arer becomming smart well thats not relaly a story game but it kinda is but well it has more differeent paths you can take compared to like break in but uh now ROBLOX the front page is mostly just simulators BORING SIMULATORS THAT WANT ALL YOUR MONEY AND TRICK KIDS INTO GIVING EM MONEY AND ALSO THERS OBBY BUT GAMES sure i like obbys especialy story obbys kinda well there arnt really any story obbys but it would be REALY COOL but um obby but games are usualy easy and boring so yeah i determine old ROBLOX (2015 to 2020) was better and its not nostalgia
