Gee Bee R2 , Maßstab 1:2, Large Scale, Moki 400, Wolfgang Niederstrasser
Our Gee Bee R2-models 1:2,3 and 1:2 are built by the help of original plans out of wooden construction.
The book "Gee Bee" by Delmar Benjamin and Steve Wolf - „A full color story of the construction and flying of the Gee Bee R-2 replica as told by builder Steve Wolf and pilot Delmar Benjamin“ was a big help, because of the detailed descriptions.
All pieces of GFK (fibre glass reinforced plastics), cowling, wheelspats etc. are produced by sophisticated handwork in our workshop.
Wingspread 3,80 m
Length 2,70 m
Engines: 400 - 800 ccm
Our models have extraordinary flight characteristics in common!

Toller Flieger.
Hi! always interesting to watch your videos. Here is my last flight with my improve Edge 540T in Coroplast czcams.com/video/fe6AlSJBwRE/video.html
Okay, thank you very much. But the next model should be a Gee Bee R 2 😊😊
Jimmy Doolittle said the Gee Bee R-1 was the most unstable & dangerous airplane he ever flew. Engine power to weight ratio and fuel load weight must be the difference between the real bird & RC model.
Yes
Great build.
Thank you very much, it is also fantastic to fly!🙂
WOW
Yes, this "monster" is a challenge! 😊
"Wunderbar" und how you say "Wow". Was this your first RC model Gee Bee? The landing was beautiful.
Thank you very much! I'm delighted that you like my Gee Bee R2. No, we have already built several of this model.
Delmar would be proud!
Thank you very much, that's a great compliment
Depressing end to hundreds of hours of skilled work😢
Very nice Gulf Hawk. It's a shame you stand in front of the prop while revving up the engine
Looks like it was a great flight after you stopped shaking, beautiful work on the plane, geebee is one of my favorites and always will be. Now of to watch Rocketeer!
😊👍
Vielen Dank! 🙂
Unbelievable
Yes, always causes "stress" when flying, but is really fun 😊
Don’t recommend touching down a mile behind you

Beautiful. And that Moki sound! Wonderful combination.
Thank you very much
What kind of transmitter is that? Thats a real nice club you guys got there. My field is near the ocean we always have a crazy cross wind to deal with
Dump the muzak please !
Very smooth flying-very respectful of the airframe.
Many thanks
75 years of age …tears came to my eyes when it took off ….bravo bravo
Thank you very much, that is a very nice compliment. I hope the tears dry soon. 😊😊
Knaller, gratuliere.
Vielen Dank!!
Ein absoluter Traum von Modell!
Ja😊
nice R2 but next fligh pleas come close we can see from that far away it takes away for a beautifull airplane congratulation on the maiden look forward to seeing more.
Just love that machine.
Yes, I was also inspired by this machine 20 years ago!
Wingspan at least 36" but who knows?
If ya need a pilot,My Border Collie Maci says she’s in.
Hi. Thank you very much, if no one can be found, I will talk to Maci :-))
Hi from the UK. That RC plane is almost as big as my actual plane. It sounds awesome too. Superb video. Thanks for posting
Hello, thank you very much, I'm glad you like my machine. Only the size of your machine is not right :-)) Great what you are doing! Spitfire etc...........
Great engine sound!
The sound of that motor! Nothing will ever sound as good as a radial! That is a beautiful model. GeeBee’s are the most beautiful planes ever built
Thank you very much for the compliment
The sound of it during the dive and fly by is awesome! To even hear the air rushing over the surface of the aeroplane!
Yes, the model is fantastic on the ground and in the air
Very nice flight. I have already flown a similar Geebee, the "D" model. It is not an easy plane to fly, especially for landings. Too bad the video is not very clear at times. It would have been necessary to zoom sometimes. Such a plane which makes such a beautiful flight with such a good pilot deserves a camera and a film of better quality.
Thank you very much for the compliment!
Prima ❤
Thank you!
ohh that is big !! So nice !!!!!
Thank you, glad you like the video
💖💖💘💘♥♥
That is so sexy sounding inbound! Thanks for the share.
I don't know exactly what they mean by inbound, but glad you like our video!! 😀

NICE!
Thank you
The 1930s golden era of Air Racing Crafts is my favorite decade. So many cool designs were built for only one thing - to win air competitions, trophies, and prize money!
Exactly, simply fascinating
Oberhammer, gratuliere von Herzen ! Was für ein Bauleistung und Vorführung ! Bin schwer Beeindruckt ! L.G. Martin🥰
SG Wolfgang
Such a great build and flight. It looks and sounds like the real thing in the air. Glückwunsch! I've seen the replica of the full-size Gee Bee R2 fly, and have spoken to Delmar Benjamin about what it's like to fly. It seemed to fly very well and under fine control, not skittish as if it were unstable or sloppy in any way. Delmar, who was very nice and kind to me, said that it was not at all the handful that it was supposed to be as long as he kept airspeed where it need to be which was anything over 80 mph. The same can be said of any high performance aircraft. He also said that he liked flying it, was comfortable in it, and only had to be extra careful immediately after takeoff and on approach to landing. He said that it could snap roll in a flash if the nose was raised too quickly when at slower airspeeds (high Alpha). He said that the R2 stalled without any serious problems (he never spun it) aside from the left wing dropping pretty quickly at the break from engine/prop torque if any power was on, and that it did not like flying slowly at all, understandable for a racing airplane.. However, I never saw it look like he was working particularly hard when he landed it, perfectly and gently on the mains every time.
Thank you very much for your congratulations and this very interesting story about your conversation with Benjamin Delmar. It is absolutely consistent with the details I know from various books. Nevertheless, it is extremely impressive for me when you can talk personally with such exceptional pilots as Delmar. Many greetings from Austria!
Beautiful, just... ...Beautiful.
Thank you!!😊
Fabulous taming of the beast. My gosh is that flying facility gorgeous or what!!!
Thank you!!😊
So many RC planes look like toys in the sky with impossible maneuvers. This beautiful ship flew like a real airplane. And what a sound!
Thank you!!😊
Sollte also "immer" gelingen😅
Gernau! 🙂@@wernerschulte6245
Great flying for a maiden flight and that for a big Gee Bee! It looked to me it behaved quite gently 👌🏼
Thank you for your compliment😊
Jimmy Doolittle rode the real thing and set a new airspeed record. Great job guys!
Thanks
