While it's true that for a number of releases, after collecting all volumes we might receive the storage box (though quite seldomly), but I don't think Sousou no Frieren has that perk when buying its volumes individually. At the same time, I do use some of them though. The can badges on my bags and keychains on some of my stuff like wallet or chain it onto my zippers! Quite similar to how it is in the US, right? Compact editions, fewer extras, fewer discs, but with all the episodes?

@@erzat Hello, then good luck that it is robust enough. Yes, an extra box where you can store extras is always an advantage. I also have a box like this where I keep all kinds of extras that don't fit into the collection slipcases or volumes. I rarely use extras. I think stickers are terrible as extras. I don't hang posters on my wall either. But sure, do what you think. It's up to you. Similar to the USA, I can hardly say. But the anime volumes in this country are more expensive than the USA/UK import. As far as extras are concerned. Additional licenses that you have to buy separately, soundtracks etc. are rather rare or drama CDs are almost non-existent. What is rather standard for extras in this country are: Booklets, collector's slipcases, special packaging (Steelbooks/Future Paks, Digipaks...) Yes, also stickers and posters, art cards and occasionally digital extras such as interviews or making-ofs, then just standards such as trailers or picture galleries. These are one of the most common extras that you have to buy in addition for Germany. Occasionally the international release is also purchased, but the German dub is missing and there are also fewer extras, which are then released as a complete edition. Then have fun with freezing, as I said, I still have to wait. I'm currently taking a break from Crunchyroll and I don't watch any more anime in the simulcast anyway. 😁

Although I have to admit that because I've bought quite a good amount of releases the past couple of years, I have so many extras that I'm not using. I haven't hung any of the posters or frames so far. But I'm planning to do so once I have a separate room to house all my stuff 😅 That's surprising! Didn't realise that it'll be more expensive. How much on average if I may ask? Similar from the USA imports that I've bought. IIRC, the Dr. Stone release that I bought doesn't come with Drama CDs. Other extras you mentioned tend to be included. To be honest, I've bought less anime and more manga in the last few years. And I sold the only light novel I owned (Goblin Slayer). So I guess you'll have to grow your collection soon. XD I make it easy for myself, I just sell when I don't like it anymore or when anime is also available in the stream and also in my language (German). I don't know the exact average. But because the anime market here is so small in contrast to other countries like the USA/UK and the licensees also pay extra for the synchro and special extras that aren't included in the license package, it's also more expensive. Especially when the volumes come with fewer episodes. Not so few in the international sector, but some publishers still have the 3-episode system. Others already have 6 episodes or 12 episodes per disc. As I said, extras are additional licenses. There are anime publishers where you don't get any physical extras either. Instead, they show off with the collector's slipcase, which are then quite sought-after by collectors. And are offered on platforms like Ebay at moon prices... The synchro market in Germany is quite small for anime, yes, but somewhat larger for real films and series. Yes, at times I get a subscription to Crunchyroll and watch everything important to me and then cancel again. I've simply given up on a permanent subscription because I'm just not a big anime fan anymore. Especially with season anime, there have been fewer and fewer per season in recent years. The target group, where I also collect mangas, is rarely the case in the anime segment these days. So enough for today, the (short) novel has become too long again XD Greetings from Germany^^

Yes, I understand where you're coming from, in fact, I'm also starting to think what am I going to do with all the collections that I've amassed over the past couple of years. I'm gradually running out of space for these 😅 It's quite sad to hear that you've let go of some of your collection, but I can see why that's the case. Hence, these days, I only collect anime or manga I believe I'm going to be able to read or watch a couple of times of which some I still do. Oh, thank you for telling me about how the market works in Germany! I didn't know that that's your situation over there. From where I come from, nearly every products of anime, manga and light novels are imported. Only a handful are licensed here. So, to get them, I need to withstand the currency and import tax pressure. I can imagine how expensive they can be. I have an older cousin who likes to collect limited edition products, and when he came to my house, he kept telling me to keep all that I have in good condition so that when I no longer want them, I can sell them at really, really high price 😅 I got it! I hope Japan will produce more anime in line with various tastes! Even for myself, I tend to get 2 - 3 hits every season these days 🥲 A lot of the ones I like to not be animated or has an adaptation yet. Haha the novel has indeed gotten too long! Oh wow! I've thought about something like that before. But, the price is as you've said, quite tough to get the entire set because of it. Seeing how popular the series is, I'm not surprised if they'll release a compact edition at a lower price. However, there's no guarantee it'll happen 😅

Hey!! It's been a long time. I'm glad that the German edition is getting its own slipcase! I'm not so sure since I imported this edition from Japan, therefore the slipcase design will be the same as in Japan. Recently, I've made a goal to buy all my favourite shows on discs since I don't trust streaming platforms keeping the shows for a very long time (license expiring etc.). I also tend to rewatch shows a lot haha Wow! That's really cool. I wish they have one physically made available too and with hardcovers. Thank you as always!! And best wishes from me and have fun!!

Hey! That's correct. I've seen some spine that are weak and the paper would peel off for some books I own or those that others own. Turns out they're a copy of the original books being sold at a cheaper price or just poorly produced. Some books' spine are easily damaged too after a slight bend.

Hey! Well, I own some Japanese tanks too, not for Frieren, but for One-Punch Man and a few others and the paper quality is nearly alike. I'd say, this is normal within the price range...? I've re-examined other tanks from Kodansha for instance, and they're not too dissimilar.

@@erzat where I live the paper is almost always pure white and cost around 8-9€. The only downside is that they are quite small 11x17cm.

@@wargel03 This reminds me of a video I watched saying that the paper quality is a much better in Europe and that it has become the norm there to use paper of such quality. If that is the case, then you're absolutely right. I wish the paper is a lot closer to the one used for The Girl From the Other Side.

@@reedwan4342 Well, Season 2 has been announced, I think right now, we're just waiting for the broadcast date. I believe some time in 2025, maybe Winter 2025. I'm unfortunately not good with crowded places, so I rarely attend events. But, it's been a dream of mine to go to one at least once 😅
