The F-15 IS NOT contrary to popular belief a fighter plane It's actually a rocket a human rides in and Flys it that's the best there ever was at shooting down actual fighter jets

I spent four years at Langley AFB, Virginia 76-80. I’ve seen F-15A’s do this many times without a belly tank go straight up. Every Friday the demo pilot would practice his demo show getting ready for wherever he would be going to do an air show. It never got old. Almost every day was an air show. Good memories.

It’s always happening, visited there 3 times and they were flying everyday
They go vertical to get out of the rest of the traffic and get up to the altitude they want quickly. I spent my first 45 years in St. Louis, MO where they are built, they went vertical a lot, there was an air national guard unit that had them at the adjacent airport and they went up at 10 am and 2 pm Monday thru Friday and they took off like that.
