Help Captain, do those cables sometimes get bent back down under there. My throttle is stiff due to my boat sucking a wakeboard rope got sucked under. I think the rope pulled the cable rod or bent the rod to the bucket.
I don't see how sucking in a rope would do that. But while on the trailer have someone articulate the bucket up and down while you observe from the rear. Hope that helps.

If something calls for molybdenum grease, definitely use it. It’s better for gears. Source: “dude just trust me”.
Thanks...lol. I'll keep that in mind.
Great video as always. Thanks for the detailed explanation. I may attempt this project after this season.
My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it and I hope I helps.

Thanks Kevin, I truly appreciate the compliment!
Amazing video, as usual... thank you for taking the time to illustrate the rest of us...
ever have the comm error on your dash? how to fix it?
Hey Steve, I never have, sorry. Maybe disconnect the battery for a few minutes.
Professor Leon's class is in session. Take notes kids.
We will have a quiz this weekend!... lol
@@CaptainLeonsBoatingandMore hahaha dang
Great information. And showing the entire water path was very helpful as well.
Thanks Jason!
Thanks Capt for sharing. Very helpful. I wish there was a way to just block water from entering the pump area all together, this way we could leave the boats in the water safely. Be safe and God Bless!
Thanks Rommel I agree, it would make things easier.
Capt, say it isn't so! What happened that you had to be towed in? I installed a shut of valve so I can kill that sea water coolant line. I also flush in slip. Hope your beautiful jet boat is ok.
Nothing major, was last year, battery issue.
@CaptainLeonsBoatingandMore yeah I saw your battery video on that issue last year.
Great video as always! I have an AR 250 so if one engine fails, I'd hope that I could use my other engine to get back to the dock. If I clamp off the failed engine can I go faster, maybe 20 mph?
Honestly, I wouldn't chance it. Follow the manual and the hose clamp just adds peace of mind. Thanks for the compliment!
When I had to limp back to the dock on one engine on my 240, it was imperative that I clamped off the dead engine. The water current, waves, and distance I had to travel wasn’t feasible to stay at “no wake”. I wasn’t barreling back, but I had to go over 5mph to maintain a safe course home. $5 vs $15k, I’ll take the clamp any day!! 😁 Thanks for another quality video Leon!
Thank you sir!
Very informative! I agree, always clamp that hose when moving faster than no wake! 👍🏻👍🏻
Merci beaucoup ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks Captain Leon I still working on week two trying to scrape the cavity Nasty and a pain in the buck. But this vide help me to familiarize myself with the process.
Oh boy, well don't give up you will get it!
Where did you order the Solas Impeller Housing from ?
I got it from Riva Racing, they sell it under their name but its a Solas product.
great video! spindle sleeve = wheel bearing race
Yes, I suppose you're right...lol! Thanks for watching.
Thanks do much for producing this excellent video. I kept finding myself considering looking into this topic for ages but kept putting it off, since it wasn't urgent. You made my introduction into Navionics totally effortless. Good job!!!
Thanks John, I'm glad you found it helpful. Sadly, Navionics has been charging annual fees now, the way of the world I guess, still a good program.
Hey cap, I did this trip on my ar240 first time yesterday and I love that .If someone wants to know this trip took 60 % of the fuel so is no problem, this was my biggest concern but now I know that yamaha is very fuel efficient. Cap Leon thanks for a trip inspiration
Nice, how was it yesterday? One of my biggest fears there is the debris in the river. Glad you enjoyed my trip and that inspired you. I need to do it again!
Very helpful and great videos!! I have a 2008 Sx 230. Used to live and boat out of Raritan Bay NJ before moving

Salt water problem
Sure is Joshua. The struggle is real.
great, informative video. thank you!
Thank you, hopefully it helps some folks.
I also did change mine exactly 2 years ago, using an OEM one as well. Results = engine doesn't turn over because the jet pump is blocked. I just ordered a stainless steel one after reading quite a few bad feedbacks about plastic replacements.
What do you mean by blocked?
@@CaptainLeonsBoatingandMore I mean seized. The impeller is rust-welded to the wear ring... Common issue. So the engine won't turn over. It started by harder noisy starts, and it would free up. Then I had some maintenance to do and didn't crank it in maybe 3 months, and here we are ;)
? Did you put grease on the splines of the shaft. Great video by the way.
Sure did. Prior to making this video I made a video the first time I replaced the housing with the OEM part. That video covered some of the steps in more depth, you can see it here: czcams.com/video/YDIGz1VXLls/video.htmlsi=6dv6fWhQfrgCSYFi
@CaptainLeonsBoatingandMore awesome. I will check it out
HOW DO I OPEN VIEW AND USE A DOWNLOADED MAP? I only want to see the Area I Saved into the Box to whereever it saved it to. It didn't even tell me or show me nor ask me to Name it.
Honestly, I'm not sure. Try calling Navioinics maybe. Sorry.
Great video! I've got to pull out my impeller due to a chunk of thick piece of plastic that's caught between the impeller and housing. Thank you 👍
Thanks! Hopefully your jet pump will be as good as new when you're done. Glad to help.
Captain Leon. With your trailer hub assembly the OEM seal is PN 4410130 ID 1.741 and OD 2.561 however the PN 13511 you used has ID 1.719 and OD 2.565. I have the Yamaha YAV2413SW which is like yours. Did you have an issue with this difference? thank you in advance.
Hey Chad, all I can tell you is that since the installation, which has been 3 years ago at least, it has been perfect. There is no leaking of grease from the seal at all. Very happy with it. If I was to do it over I may consider the galvanized version which would rust less. This was my solution to keep the lugs from rusting: czcams.com/video/8OiqKRP7XJ8/video.htmlsi=4uzVZMLs6J2jOsf5
oem is the best BUT there is a cheaper alterative and in certain condition's may be advisable . the banging on the water hose comes from metal on metal with the stainless setup something will have to give eventually . My suggestion is the plastic insert (wear ring ) its easy to install and will only wear the ring not the expensive impeller . also IF anything aka rocks .shells.ect goes in it your chances of a motor lock up and serious damage are a lot less .. hope my suggestion helps someone on a budget.
All good points, I hear ya. But the banging on the garden hose was mostly caused from the swell points on the OEM due to corrosion between the aluminum and stainless layers. Now that its all stainless its quiet, but you're right, no room for error.
Definitely informative and entertaining 😃
Thanks Micheal, appreciate that.
Hey Capt.. great review as I am fairly new to water navigation. Pretty fired to download the Navionics app but became a little apprehensive with it's 3/5 review and some of the negative comments regarding recent updates. Would love to hear your up to date thoughts.
Hey Kurt, over time Navionics has changed their policy and now is charging annual fees that can be quite extreme. I still use it but have given up on the premium features due to the cost. I still recommend the base app. Hope that helps.
It was good, but it was affordable
Hawk tua 👍
what top speed did you guys reach? thx
She does 45 to 46 mph max
Hey Captain Leon. This video is awesome, thank you and nice work... I have a 2015 212X with a dual axle trailer and would like to do the same. Do you have any knowledge or guidance on how things are different there? Seems i'd need a different hub assembly that includes a rotor?
Thanks Roland. It would definitely be different. I would contact the Shorelandr Trailer company to get the exact specs on what you would need. Good luck with it. I'm sure with the right parts the job will go easy.
@@CaptainLeonsBoatingandMore I did it this weekend, along with new Ce smith brake kit! Easy peasy, thanks again for your video I gave me the confidence to tackle this!
@@rolandmair2278 Awesome, glad to hear it! Thanks.
If I can clarify: let out the front anchor, back in, put out the back anchor on the beach? I almost had my rental boat stuck on shore on Lake Powell because I had no idea how to beach the boat. I thought I just pull on up and back out when ready lol
Yes sir, that's my approach. Let out front anchor, back in to beach. Rear anchor on beach to keep vessel straight. Now if it's an outboard you may want to pull in bow first, up to you. Thanks for watching.
Hey Captain do you have a video replacing the impeller? Or have a good link? Thanks Jay!!
Hey Jay. I'm sorry I don't. I'm still running on my original impeller! I have seen other videos on CZcams covering it.
Good overview of Navionics - thanks!
Just FYI, if you have a PC or laptop, the Active Captain website also has Navionics charts (Garmin also owns Active Captain), just choose MAP from the home screen. I don't know if they have all of the functionality of the app, however.
Nice video, how are the registration numbers holding up? Have any fell off? Did any fade? Also if one number of letter falls off and is gone, are you able to order just one number/letter replacement?
All good questions David. The letters still look brand new, they are holding up great. No fading at all and they are not going anywhere. Check with Jetboat pilot about the ability to order just one letter.
This is great, now I feel like I can do this
I'm sure you can. Just take it slow and watch my follow up video where I learned a few things with the passage of time. czcams.com/video/sgQvRjvSiWw/video.htmlsi=nuxR_itHjYxcNW8m

Chainsaw bar n chain oil will keep you leaf springs from rusting
Thanks Pete, I just changed them as they were falling apart.
@@CaptainLeonsBoatingandMore your welcome Only reason I recommend is I live in the northeast and spray my 98 truck every fall before the winter snows and salt is spread on the roads and my truck has 0 rust underneath it works so much better than paying a garage to undercoat which eventually will peel off
DO NOT BUY NAVIONICS EQUIPMENT!!! THE PRICES FOR YEARLY SUBSCRIPTIONS ARE INSANE!!!!
I know its to expensive now!
damaged on same side, same area ?, tells me a bearing is bad.
Perhaps the torque moves it that way, but with the new housing its real quiet now, so not sure the bearings are bad.
