Ho avuto il piacere di ascoltare per la prima volta queste esecuzioni del Maestro Michelangeli e le ritengo assolutamente sublimi. Ogni interpretazione riflette una profonda comprensione dei pezzi e un'abilità tecnica impeccabile, testimoniando un'arte pianistica di raro livello. Queste performance sono, senza dubbio, esempi luminosi di come la musica possa essere trasformata in pura poesia.

Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli è un maestro ineguagliabile, capace di trasformare ogni composizione in un'esperienza poetica. La sua tecnica impeccabile e l'intensa espressività lo rendono uno dei più grandi interpreti del pianoforte, elevando la musica a pura arte.

It seems this gentile man has imprinted in some form of economic legislation the very concept and idea of boom and bust for most of the world as an acceptable manageable process, in order to supposedly avoid the dreaded concept of depression. Used on the other hand in order to avoid the concept of depression, it does not. It simply enables catastrophic failure's, worst (necessary catastrophic failures), by slowly, hastenly and suddenly building up to it.

One of the best versions ever! Maestro Arrau never disappoints and at 33:00 he’s the only one I’ve ever heard so far who played the 1st version and it’s so much more interesting even if it’s just a few bars! This encourages me to perform the 1st version as well. My most favorite version is by Radu Lupu, but this is definitely a top3 recording alongside Richter’s version!
