I just got one of these to mess around with and I can open it in about a quarter of a second by jamming the pick into the end of the keyway. Doing it the right way still takes me a while though!

Nice cleanup! I also found a Almont Re-key lock recently, it's gonna need some cleanup, including the shackle which is steel on my lock. Do you know anything about removing the shackle? Is that what the second hole on the bottom of the lock body is for?

I'm looking to buy this for my condo door, if i accidentally lock myself out with the button on the back. There is no way back in without breaking the lock/door?

Yeah. The older Garant10 which is now obsoleted (key profile patent expired) is probably better in that respect. The sidebar sliders are spring loaded.

Add a few security pins in the upper and lower and for the money you have a very nice lock. Those cast parts are not zinc they are stainless steel which make it stronger.

You take apart the E2 model, it says E2 on the inside and when you notice that you say it is definitely the E1 model.
