Tom, I am much older than you, and your videos, Podcasts, Flashcards, and the methods you are putting out are an inspiration to me. Please keep it up, you are making learning medicine more accessable and logical Thank you
Great to hear, thanks!
Thank you ❤
Thank you for helping me to understand the Rumsfeld Matrix within the context of 'Preparation for Competitive exams'.
I appreciate how your advice makes sense and there was never a point when listening to you that I felt like I was being "horse manured" I'ma run with you🫂
😄
Thank you, Tom, I really needed this!
Great advice. Thanks so much Tom
It would be great if you could do a video on how to test yourself. Where to find or produce your own short answer questions and mcq’s.
Will add it to the list, thanks. You could check out the questions I build for this purpose at members.zerotofinals.com!
i really have problems when it comes reading i am actually not a cramming type God bless
Why i didn't know this information before. Thanks
how do you use this when you are trying to cover all the topics in each section, for example, we need to cover surgery, cardiology and etc and perhaps they are 10 in total and they each have 10 topics to cover, how can i use this method to cover all the materials?
Hi. You can just create a bigger spreadsheet. Instead of cardiology, general surgery, respiratory etc, you could have cardiovascular disease, acute coronary syndrome, angina, arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation etc.
Thanks a lot
Happy to help
Is there a 2nd edition of surgery book coming soon? I am hesitant to buy the first edition
Probably not for 3 years (that would be my best guess)
@@TomWatchman Thanks for the reply. Why can’t I order your physical Flashcards to Germany?
@@mezomoza7 Really sorry, we don't ship internationally 😟
@@TomWatchman Hopefully like the books they become available on Amazon soon. Keep the great work up. Thanks a lot.
@@mezomoza7 Thanks, will do
Big fan .Sir .
Awesome, thank you Tom for sharing this ❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks ☺
Thanks, Tom that was extremely helpful. I am a second-year med student and last year your advice helped me smash my exams. I finished the year among the top 5 in my class. I’ve watched all your videos more than twice. You changed my college journey❤. Question: where can I find your book Medicine Guide?
Great to hear it helped! It is great to hear you smashed your exam, nice work, very impressive! The books are found at zerotofinals.com/books and the course is at members.zerotofinals.com. Keep up your great work!
I was thinking about the sandwich method just today and then your notification popped up .. thank u
I hope the sandwich technique is catching on!
Awesome teacher❤❤❤❤❤. God bless you fr teaching and sharing 👍👍👍
You are so welcome
What a hunk ❤
haha!
Genuinely the best advice I've seen for finals! Thank you!!
That is great to hear, thanks! More videos coming soon.
I want to ask shall I apply this rule in mrcp exam? Like what if I try to get every unit daily instead of of one unit at a time?
absolutely! the same strategies apply to any medical exam. spaced repetitions of the content is optimal - meaning spacing the times you go through to content out (e.g., review the same content after 48 hours ,then after 1 week then after 3 weeks and so on)
Thank you Tom for creating such an amazing content in precise manner
Glad you like them!
God bless you sir , you have saved me a lot sir❤❤❤❤❤
Hey Tom How do I become less paranoid about not knowing enough and this fear that I might harm patients in the future because I’m not memorizing textbooks or anything my of that sort and I’m just pushing by and trying to retain the most important knowledge for exams :(
Hi. I think a big part of it is accepting that you will never know everything and being aware of the gaps in your knowledge (including being aware that there are many things you will not even known that you don't know). Not everything falls on one person - the system should be set up so that you are always able to take the time needed to find out the answers or to call on someone with the necessary skills to help. Even the most experienced and knowledgable doctors will have gaps in their knowledge.
Tysm for replying and for everything you do I really appreciate it 🥹💗@@TomWatchman
Really excellent and clearly explained. I'll take this on board myself, e.g. for any future job interview preparation. But it will also be invaluable advice for my secondary school son. I've been enjoying listening to your full playlist on how to learn this morning.
thanks! that is encouraging to hear. more coming soon...
Thanks this helped
Thank you so much.

Thank you Tom for your vid it’s very helpful, can you talk mor about script.
Tnx a lot
Thank you. Great
Hi Tom, i haven't even watched this video yet, but all I want to say is a HUGE THANK YOU! I am a doctor myself and found you on Spotify when one of my consultants suggested listening to podcasts while commuting as I have no time to revise at home with the kids. It really helped me re-learn long forgotten topics and the best thing is when I encounter a relevant case at work I can quickly navigate in your page and find what I want as if I already read it. The rest is really filling the gaps with more advanced knowledge but what really matters is to know the basics. In this way it really sticks with me and after recently having gone though the whole medical topics I feel more confident than ever. I have shared your podcasts with tons of colleagues, especially the more junior ones as it is a great way of putting things together whiout getting overwhelmed. Your patients are so lucky!
Thank you! Great to hear your story.
This was super informative and helpful in my grad school! I wish you had kept making more videos 😢 They’re really interesting 📗📕📚
Thank you so much Doc! ❤ I am at the stage where my unknown unknowns are shifting towards known unknowns..as i got the prepared notes.. Soon I'll get into known knowns by spaced repetitions!
thank you so much
Parkinson's law is genius. I always wondered why it is that i was able to do some stuff really quickly under pressure whereas simple tasks when I have more time seem to take ages. The same essay could take 3 weeks or 3 days. And its not like the 3 week essay is all that much better
Hey Tom what level would you say the MSRA is at? Med school finals or GP level? Would zero to finals be sufficient for doing well in the MSRA or should I be looking at postgraduate focussed books?
It is probably about medical school level. Zero to Finals is definitely sufficient (many people use it for the GP exams also).
sir just a suggestion for reducing time for overall process of video making buy wacom graphic tablet so you can directly draw on pc and use screen recording software (OBS/CAMTASIA) along with mic connected (if want seprate auido recording do record in audacity /garage band. overall it will shorten overall time .
awesome video mate, thank you! Keep making great content!
