Abdominal strengthening: Safe exercises to improve abdominal strength and decrease back pain.
Variations of the reverse crunch position are excellent strategies to improve functional abdominal strength, improve trunk stability, and help protect your lower back. These exercises, when performed together with an “abdominal draw”engages both your rectus abdominis (your 6 pack), and transversus abdominis. Engaging the transversus abdominis immediately after the crunch helps stretch your 6 pack while strengthening the transversus. At 53 years old I’ve noticed a significant improvement in definition, and less subcutaneous fat around my waistline in the past 6 months, and this is much easier on the back than a traditional crunch.

    Thanks for the detailed video. I saved myself a $309 Brake Masters shop. Thought they would “flush it out” for that price but it’s just a DRAIN N POUR service. My ATF replacement went well but the only thing is that I should have removed the front driver wheel to allow more space and to catch the fluid into the container I got the HONDA CVT oil at the Honda dealership for $13.55 per quart. Great deal.

    Great way to stretch those lower abs. That goblet squat is a killer! I’m going to incorporate that into my daily routine as I think it could be a key component for more flexibility and strength as I age. Thanks for these helpful exercises and stretches!

      If you have a lower splash guard like he has, you might get lucky and find it laying down there somewhere. The part is easy to replace, part# 25615-5DL-003 at any local dealer. It's about $25.00

      Great observation! The part of the vehicle in question is commonly called a gear selector or gear select lever (to indicate the positions of park, reverse, neutral, and drive). Of course there are no gears in the actual assembly, but the term is still used

      I asked a Honda service advisor about that and he said that they never change the filter unless it is over 50,000 miles and it looks like the transmission fluid has never been changed (or if there has been a problem with the transmission). I changed my filter at 100,000 miles and it still looked pretty clean (but I change my transmission fluid every 8 - 10,000 miles). I plan to change the filter again at 200,000 and will post a video.

    Great exercise! The back of my left shoulder blade has been hurting/bothering me and I do notice some weakness overall on my left arm. Im guessing my rhomboid is weak How many sets do you recommend to do? Also should I do this weekly, every other day?

      Great question. If your pain is near the medial border of your shoulder blade, the stretch component alone may help. Start with light resistance (you should be able to complete 20 repetitions comfortably) and start with one set every other day. Add repetitions as your strength increases and I typically perform 50 repetitions before moving to a greater resistance. Keep your “chin up” (I look at the top of the doorway) to help maintain good posture.

    Spoiler alert-- instead of total disassembly, to remove fan just take a blunt punch and wack it CCW with a hammer near a blade and it loosens right up and will screw off. To affix the new fan, screw it on but leave it a turn loose; then energize the blower and the new fan will lock-on..

      You actually need to cycle the transmission twice after doing that. Fill it until it overflows, then seal it up and start the engine cycling through all the gears, pausing for at least 3 seconds in each position. Then fill again with CVT fluid until it overflows. THEN you are done.

    This is the proper procedure, many fail to verify the levels by opening the check bolt. You can’t just go by replacing the exact amount that comes out because levels may be off to begin with- either improperly serviced from before or maybe even having a leak.

      According to a Honda tech, the filter only needs to be changed if there is a problem, or a suspected problem. I changed the filter once when I first got the car and will probably change it again soon because I’m approaching 190k. I will put up a video when I change the filter.

    Just an FYI, for all those experiencing this - Ryobi has an unannounced (for this model anyway) recall on these units, should the fan blade fail. It WILL take a MONTH to get it replaced, but they will do it. It was offered to me - just yesterday, however by the time they responded to my inquiry about it (going on 3 weeks), I had already repaired my Ryobi P2108 blower. BTW - While I had it apart, I also replaced the bushing (Part No. 612854001) behind the broken fan blade (Part No. 529437004), Both on the parts list that is provided with the manual, which can be downloaded from the internet. The bushing was loose and worn, which probably was at least partially responsible for the failure of the fan blade..
