It’s true I have never experienced any form of racism, neither have my family. We are pretty white, my mom could pass for Asian specifically Korean. The things she gets told the most is that she looks Asian and that she’s really pretty. I’m a privilege that I don’t think anyone talks about. I am more white leaning, but I am very in the middle so I don’t look too dark or too light, in fact, I get compliments on how pretty my skin tone is. I’m not trying to sound like I’m bragging I’m just pointing something interesting out. I’m also brunette and I have heterochromia, I have one blue eye and one brown eye. No one has ever been racist to me, so definitely it’s a thing. another interesting thing to note is that no one has ever been racist to me in the Hispanic community. I know that if you’re too light you get picked on for that and if you’re too dark, you get picked on for that too but when you don’t fit into either you’re fine.

Yes, politics are trivial. But you can't be a friend with someone you're actively trying to strip civil rights from. You can't be friends with someone and support a candidate that makes shitty jokes about their skin color. You can't be a friend with someone and talk shit about how people like them are stealing jobs, or running drugs, or just looking to take what's yours. Not because of politics, but because friendship requires you to not be a dick to someone.

l'm an olive complexion Puerto Rican and l'm FED UP with all this Crap! 67 years old. Born in NYC. Moved to the South in 1987. pulled over by the cops about 5 times for Speeding (l WAS) and Expired Tag ( IT WAS)! . Each Cop was respectful in handling me and I was always responded like a Classy Lady and respectfully. NEVER a problem. l have experienced Racism. Not from Whites, but from Blacks, IN THEIR CHURCHES! I was a Soloist in a Mixed Colored Ministry and my pastor was asked to Preach and bring his Praise team to large Ministry in Covington, GA (I will not name the church- I am still embarrassed by their reproach on the gospel). Before my pastor preached he put our singers into the lineup back stage. I was 3rd in line and as l began to walk out to the stage my pastor grabbed my arm and pulled me back. He said he was told by leadership that l (Puerto Rican- Margarita) was not allowed to sing because I WAS NOT black and would OFFEND their CONGREGATION! Pastor told me go sit with our group. When it was time for him to preach, my BLACK Pastor preached on the EVIL of RACISM that is in the hearts of the African American Church who claim to love JESUS! We are Gods creation. He created the differences in mankind! Jesus looks at the heart of man and not his color. Racist haters will not get into Heaven no matter what your ministry calling is or the name of your church. NOT ONE WHITE MINISTRY HAS EVER REJECTED ME! I still see the RACISM in the MANY BLACK CHURCHES within the SOUTH and it is STRONGER today in 2021!!!!!!
