How lovely to hear how down-to-earth Dr Bennett is - so wonderfully Aussie!
Absolutely agree that much of musical appreciation (and performance) comes down to taste - so many people will say that this or the other artist is 'better' than another when what they really mean is that they prefer the sound of one over the other. I don't think the average audience member is any any position to judge who is 'better' - whatever that means.
I love the comment that the term 'self-made' is actually unclear because no-one does anything in a silo. People are, by nature, relational beings.
I agree that the Northern hemisphere is barely aware of Australian music apart from the very clever TwoSet Violin or brilliant jazz ensemble The Consouls which have large online followings. Edit: bgm is nice at the end but is Ketsa Aussie?
me and my friends are working on this piece and the trio and the movement before this we have a quartet and are freshman in highschool
How wonderful! It's such a great piece - enjoy exploring all it has to offer you!
Vi ho conosciuto in diretta radio, quando eravate a Roma. Poche settimane fa. Una sensazione di profonda intensità mi ha colpito durante l'ascolto. Grazie per il vostro lavoro. 🙏
Grazie mille!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Christopher 😊 What a lovely experience to have had to start 2024
This short is underrated
Nawwww thank you. Glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful renditions of this lovely quartet by our papa...
Thank you, we're glad you enjoyed the performance.
Wow. I Googled mirror distortion and this is one of the hits. What a surprise when I was only looking for mirrors that don’t distort… This piece and the performance is more than amazing. Has no one else seen this? Am I the first and only to comment? Why? Genius work and performance.
Hi Martha, thanks so much for your very kind words! We really appreciate it. Yes, it's a pretty amazing piece of music, isn't it! :-)
Excellent!
Thank you! We're glad you enjoyed it :-)
Excited for next year. Happy New Year ASQ and everyone involved ❤
Thank you-happy new year to you, too! We look forward to seeing you this year, Darren :-)
Is there a Long version?
Is there long version?

😮 mind blown, incredible piece and rendition
Thank you very much :-)

Thank you :-)
Interrupting the song in the middle to place an ad? Making it necessary to get pu, go to the computer and click again to get through the ads, or else the ads play forever? Go to hell, Google CZcams. You already censored all the violent, bloody Ukrainian atrocities in 2014-15, like strafing civilians and bombing schools. Take your ads, your perverted "search" algorithm, and your twisted Disinformation/Fake "News" and shove it where the sun don't shine.
Please, what is the music?
Hi Chris, it is Alfred Hill's String Quartet No.3, 'The Carnival: III. Scherzo 🙂
Thank you. In your hands it sounds just lovely. @@australianstringquartet959
Вау, звучит потрясающе ❤
Nice video I'm the cellist from the morning on Thursday 2/11/23
Thank you! We're glad you enjoyed it and thanks for letting us know its you :-)
😇 Thanks ✨✨🙏💐⭐💫
Gorgeous second violin!
Thank you :-)
Nice!
Thanks so much! We are glad you enjoyed :-)
Beautiful!!
Thank you 🙂
Wow) sound is amazing
Thank you so much 🙂
Haydn is so lively and original. Not a dull second.
We wholeheartedly agree!
esses dois instrumentos combinam muito
Wow, sounds amazing guys!
Thanks Ivan! :-)
Absurd to stand. Why? Not only looks uncomfortable, it's uncomfortable to watch. Affects arm and hand movements, attacks, sotto voce, even hearing. You are obviously talented, but you are not soloists when playing quartets. You are a foursome playing as one.
You are great!!
Thank you. We're glad you enjoyed this movement :-)
I agree. Beautiful music; great performances; impossible not to be moved.
Thank you Jill :-)
❤
Another great Aussie. the other is Carl Vine. ASQ played this with gusto and energetic passion
Thank you!
Nice playing but what a pity about the third movement, the mics are set too high and are introducing noise into the recording eg 8:35 , The sound engineer should have spotted that.
Wonderful music 💫🎼💫🎶💫🌻🕊🌻🕊🌻🕊❤️🇦🇺💫
Thank you!
Listened this morning. Such an amazing piece. Thank you, Ledger
It is incredible, isn't it! Thanks for watching :-)
Works just as well upside down - well done.
Thanks, Peter!
@@australianstringquartet959 You are most welcome - seriously a lovely performance. You should do more, 20.3 is a bit weird but 20.5 is good for a laugh....
I know a cellist who can play standing up!!!
Oh!!!!!!!!! Standing quartet!!!!!!!!! Oh, my God!!!!!!!!!!! Standing!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing!!!!!!!!!!! Now a quartet can sound as if they are not sitting down like silly orchestra players!!!!!!! Noe they really are almost soloists!!!!!!!!! Great!!!!!!!! Standing Quartet!!!!!!
Fabulous sound quality
Thanks, Peter!
I loved it when you stood to perform. Remaining hopeful that you'll start standing again. So much more satisfying to watch.
Absolutely wonderful. Your music is marvellous Lachlan. I will always remember my delight when Taikoz & the SSO played it. I gave been searvhing you out ever since.
Great music and performance, thanks! But so many of your videos start with a film-school focus-in when the players have already begun playing, and we can't see how the players coordinate the downbeat -- an important part of watching players play. Can you please not do this any more? Or at least complete the focus-in before the players begin playing? Thanks again.
Beautiful, thank you :)
Bravo
