When I was in the Navy, I was living in a barracks next to the fort. It was landlocked at the time. This was 1978, just after Howard England's sand hogs has finished their initial excavations, and just before he was assigned as park ranger. It was possible to climb over the wall and explore, and I did on a number of occasions. If memory serves, those cannons were lined up out in the open courtyard. The cannons in the wall were exposed. I don't remember any of the living spaces being accessible (latrines, etc), so seeing them in your video was all new to me. Otherwise, it doesn't look like the fort has changed all that much. I enjoyed my days on the island and had my honeymoon there. Great video!

We know that dolphins in captivity suffer greatly. Here are some of the hardships they go through: Dolphins used in tourism are usually bred in captivity and separated from their mothers at an early age. This traumatises both mother and calf and inhibits natural learning. Captive dolphin tanks are 200,000 times smaller than a dolphin’s natural range. Designed to allow humans to view the dolphins, they offer no mental stimulation. Captive dolphins may be ‘trained’ by depriving them of food and making them perform tricks. The standard captive dolphin diet includes frozen fish, depriving dolphins of their natural hunting behaviours. Many captive dolphins respond to their stressful lives with behaviour seldom seen in the wild, including grinding their teeth down, bobbing their heads, and swimming in circles. Captive dolphins can live for over 50 years, typically spending their whole lives in traumatic conditions.

Beautiful animals and great animal ambassadors for the rest of us to learn how special they are. We would never care about them if we couldn’t see how amazing they are.❤ Thankful for these educational opportunities for the public.

I live a mile or two down the road from the theater of the sea and it is a good place to wander around for a couple of hours and get up close to the local marine life. I had some great cheeseburgers and french fries too.😊 about 20 years ago I did some work there replacing pavers on the pathways around the lagoons. the sea turtles would come up and watch me very closely. one continually tried to take my hammer away. he was visually challenged. he thought it was a lobster. they rescue animals that could not survive in their natural habitat.

Pigeon Forge, Tennessee Use to have the Tommy Bartlett Water Show. Ballet on water ski's. Cheer type pyrmids on water skis. The main attraction was T.B hanging by his teeth, over the crowd and water from a helicopter. The daytime show was fun. The spotlights on the water at night, my favorite as a kid. I dont no why or remember when it closed down. Guess, late 80's early 90's. Im about to Google it. 😂
