First off, congratulations for giving up your time to work in EMS. Can I ask how small your "very small town" is, and what is the role of an EMT-B? I'm in Australia where even small towns are crewed only by full-time paramedics (actually you have to have a Degree in Paramedicine to work on an emergency ambulance, so technically somebody at EMT level can't get employment). Your 24-hour shifts are very intriguing. In the large cities here, we do 12-hour shifts and get never get time to stop for a meal or even FOT. When I did a few years in a small outback town we only did 8-hour shifts and took an ambulance home to work on call overnight and on weekends. Best wishes with your studies, and keep up the great work.

how do you decide who is in the back and who drives?

Is it practical to do this while in college? Do you have the option not to work overnights?

Hello Molly, I appreciate this video because 2 night's ago, I was a pedestrian who helped 2 victims in a drunk driving accident. My family asked me how I handled the situation and asked how I felt. They recognized what I said and knowing about my calm nature, they suggested looking into an EMT -B course. I'm 37, looking for my calling and working E-commerce in retail and grocery has been my source of income since 2014. I would appreciate your feedback 🙂. I was shitting bricks the whole time on my NREMT-P last Tuesday lol. Surprised alot of "BLS before ALS questions", a ped fluid bolus, and tons of rhythm/algorithm questions. Almost no ops or trauma, and the rhythm strip were ass (they were illustrated/fake, but weird)

Can I ask what is the difference between a Emt and a EMS like do they do the same stuff as you are no? Because I have been really wanting to be a emt but I have no clue of like what is the best lol

Hi Molly! The first video I came across was your Day in the life as an EMT. I love watching these types of videos because it encourages me to go through my EMT b class training. I’m really nervous though and thought maybe you could answer some questions I may have. I’m the youngest in my class (a senior in high school) and I’m taking this three week intensive EMT b course. The third week we have to go in person to practice for the practical exam for four days then on the fifth day is our actual exam. I’m really nervous because I’m taking this course through a college and the instructor told me I am the youngest in the course and would be at a slight disadvantage because most of the students who took and take the classes are premed with knowledge about anatomy & physiology, medical terminology, etc. (BASICALLY stuff that I don’t know). We have this group chat where we talk about updates and assignments, and we were able to get a head start on our FEMAS certifications but I don’t even know what the hell that is. LIKE WHAT EVEN IS THAT??? Anyways my first class starts on Monday and I’m SUPER nervous. I feel like I’m going to struggle compared to everyone else. PLEASE HELP. I don’t know who else I could talk to about this. I feel embarrassed to ask the group chat because every student seems to know and understand what and how to do these things.

I'm trying to get a job as a supply technician for my local ambulance company but now I'm scared.. I thought the ambulance would be easy to stock but it looks like most suppliers are kept in bags/backpacks from videos I've seen. How am I supposed to know how much of everything I need to stock and what everything is 😢 I'm second guessing my interview now
