I believe Reyes zealous attitude was registered as more success than he actually had in the fight. He was the first opponent in many years that came into the octagon that truly believed they could win so it was refreshing especially live it seemed closer than it truly was because Reyes was able to land but Jones was never phased. He kept pushing and pushing. I think Jones won clearly and only clearly lost round 1.

In total, reyes had 7 more strikes. Jones had 2 takedowns and was the Aggressor through the entire fight while reyes was on the backfood. I see why it was close, but no way near reyes got robbed, jones won.

After rewatching the fight Jones had won this. It was really a close call. Reyes may have landed more strikes but his strikes thrown may have been his disadvantage and some of his strikes weren’t as clean. Jones may have gotten touched this fight but he displayed defense and counters against Reyes pressure and never showed that he was in danger. He landed more with less of his strikes being thrown and being able land the 2 takedowns. Reyes put up a good fight tho. A rematch would’ve been something to see.
