My name is Sandy Marie. On June 1st, 2018 I turned 62 (I've been crocheting for 52 years). At this point in my life I decided it was time to follow my heart and my passion. Basically, that is creating Fiber Art.
My focus is on all types of colorwork crochet. The first group of videos on this Channel are the ‘base’ tips and techniques needed to step into this adventure. I’ll also include reviews on equipment, tools and materials needed.
From there I create design graphs meant to inspire the artist in everyone, flower graphs (because I love flowers), unique patterns and many things that are just fun, but also meant to hone Fiber Art skills.

Colorwork Crochet refers to Fair Isle (Stranded Crochet), Intarsia Crochet, and Tapestry Crochet.
In this video I’ve taken you to the Ocean, Crescent Beach in Florida. I’m sharing tips to take great pictures for creating graph patterns. Colorwork Crochet depends on Graph Patterns. Beautiful, ORIGINAL Graph Patterns depend on great photography.
Step 1: Getting your camera or smartphone out of Automatic mode. I share how I learn to use a new piece of equipment and the settings on it. Basically you learn one setting at a time instead of overwhelming yourself with all of them.
Step 2: Basic outside lighting. This is actually sunshine, but direct sunlight is too intense and will wash out color, so I share a few shading tips and the photo magic times of each day.
Step 3: The goal is to be able to do colorwork crochet. So your focus needs to be on one subject at a time. This step shares some tips on cleaning your area and setting up your shot.
