the way i see it, the professor broke even. i would have said, in regards to the one thing you can't do and i win.....transfer permanently all your demonic powers over to me with no "back door" out to regain them. i either get the powers, or he can't do it and i am back at square one, but this way gives me a chance to profit not just break even.

This episode has the intelligence and poise of the original series. Great episode. Would’ve loved to have seen Rod sterling do an episode like this. One without the subtle comedy even though the comedy works very well here.
RIP Sherman Helmsley & Ron Glass. I remember watching this one live back in '86 or whenever; never forgot the meaning. Quite a few of the 80s revival were definitely worthy of remembrance and this is one of them.
Where was Weezy in this episode? Mr. Bently should have played the demon. "Well Professor J, I've come to take your soul. Give me a question or task I cannot perform!" "Get Lost Bently!" Slams the door in his face!
When he asked him the questions the demon basically said he can do anything and go anywhere. When he told him to "get lost" he not only said it as a way to say go away but ment it as losing track of where he is. He gave him a command he couldn't do because he knows every location in existence so technically can't get lost anywhere. It would be like asking someone to lose track of where they are in their own home. They know every spot of their house so getting lost in such a familiar place is impossible.
One of the things I love the most about this episode is the subtlety of everything going on. Sherman is absolutely terrified of the demon initially and is constantly backing away from him and trying to keep himself from getting cornered. However, once he has the information he needs in only two out of the three questions, he knew that he had him. The demon approaches Sherman and he doesn't even flinch. He just stands his ground and knows exactly what to do at that point. Great, memorable performances by both. Rest in Peace, Sherman and Ron.
And Disney can't make something decent with a millions budget for cast & cgi. Twilight zone learned us that a good told story is better than a good looking movie.
