I can't find these hooks in the smaller sizes! What would be a good substitute hook for these popers? Barbless ok but not mandatory.

You can't push on a rope - or a fly line - with ANY fly rod. A fly rod can only PULL a flyline.

Moose hair makes the finest Mosquito flies (for light and dark bands on the body,, which you apparently haven't tied!! I've been a Deer and Elk hunter since 1973, but I haven't analyzed Deer, Elk, and Moose hair like you seemed to have done, and with most due respect, I don't understand how your lecture is helpful to fly tiers in any Practical Sense!! Oh Caribou hair float good, but it's Very Brittle!! Hair stacker is another waste of money, as I just use my wife's old lipstick top, and it does the same thing. And Bodkin can be made with the cork top of a wine or carbonated Juice bottle, for almost nothing.

Three minutes to videotape a knot that takes 20 seconds to tie, and a marginally effective knot at that. Simpler is always better. Simple loop knot to attach a fly, double surgeons knot to attach tippet. Don’t over think it.

Recently started using thos knot for my droppers in place of the 3 turn surgeons knot. I find it easier twisting the big loop once and pinching with my thumb before feeding the tag ends through.

I use this (when I'm not being lazy) on most of my trout flies. Much prefer the loop which gives the flies a more realistic movement. This is simple and effective.

This knit is easily tied using forceps as well! Notmsure about the audible pop when it seats as my ears ain't what they used to be, but youmcand definitely feel it! Great know for old mumble fingers like mine

Hmmm… You can throw a 2” - or slightly bigger - weighted streamer with a 7’6 4wt fiberglass rod and a 150 grains Commando head, but can you fish the streamer with such a light rod, actually control it with the rod , or are you limited to stripping the line in linearly ? And what about the fight with a decent sized (not a monster either) smallmouth on such a small rod (4wt in this instance), won’t it take ages? It’s all very well to cast a heavy fly on a light rod, but it’s just the first step in the act of actually fishing.
