âMarcâ was a British television series presented by T. Rexâs lead singer, Marc Bolan. It aired in 1977 on the ITV network and was produced by
Granada Television in Manchester. This clip was first broadcast on 14th Sept 1977.
Steve Gibbons is an English singer-songwriter and musician. Gibbons was a member of The Ugly's & Balls before joining Jeff Lynne's former band 'The Idle Race' for three months in 1971. The band evolved into the 'Steve Gibbons Band'. It had included in its first line-up former Move guitarist Trevor Burton.
Tulane and Johnny opened a novelty shop
Back under the counter, was the cream of the crop
Everything was clickin' and the business was good
'Til one day, lo and behold, an officer stood
Johnny jumped the counter but he stumbled and fell
But Tulane made it over Johnny as he yelled
Go ahead on, Tulane, he can't catch up with you
Go Tulane, he ain't man enough for you
Go Tulane, use all the speed you got
Go Tulane, you know you need a lot
Go Tulane, he's laggin' behind
Go 'head on, Tulane go head on
Go by your father's house and tell him business is slow
And see if he will loan us something, soon as he hits the dough
Put the cat out in the hall and rumple up the room
Go by Doctor Keller's, tell him you swallowed some perfume
Tell him we need him quick, 'cuz he may have to testify
That you been sick all day and that's a perfect alibi
Go ahead on, Tulane, he can't catch up with you
Go Tulane, he ain't man enough for you
Go Tulane, use all the speed you got
Go Tulane, you know you need a lot
Go Tulane, he's laggin' behind
Go 'head on, Tulane go head on
Go, let Danny drive in case you run into the Man
Back by the shop and git the stuff and hide it in the van
Go back by your father's, get the money for the bail
And bring it down and bail me out this rotten, funky jail
We gotta get a lawyer in the click of politics
Somebody who can win the thing or get the thing fix
Go ahead on, Tulane, he can't catch up with you
Go Tulane, he ain't man enough for you
Go Tulane, use all the speed you got
Go Tulane, you know you need a lot

Go Tulane

It's not quite "Over and Out" just yet for Jeff Lynne as he has one final tour left in him and hopefully some more music to come. Lynne, the maestro behind Electric Light Orchestra, took a nostalgic trip down memory lane with his cover of the Everly Brothers classic "So Sad." This track, featured on his 2012 solo album "Long Wave," is a tender rendition that pays homage to the harmonious hearta...

The stranger?
A-ha manager terry slate
Today I don't feel like doing anything.
I remember seeing this on TOTP's & always remember they were singing over the record giving a 'double tracking' effect
Best violin ever
Wow. Very disappointing but then again who cares what Dhani thinks? RIP Prince
Saw ELO in the early 80s. They haven't missed a beat after all these years.
Brilliant when music was fun not depressing. đđđđ
OMG IT'S JAMES LELAND KIRBY!!!!
If the venues didn't pay up after an ELO concert Arden would beat the manager up.
He really imprinted a sound on the 70âs that was so unique in a time when everyone seemed unique. So to leave that kind of legacy is outstanding. I was too immature to appreciate it at the time, but it always seemed to stick in the back of my mind. He is truly a great composer/songwriter/performer.
Turn to stone is his greatest song!
Joe is awesome still playing great slowing down a bit but still the man
What does woody have to do to get the recognition he deserves still the brilliant musician he's always been. Why no gong from the palace
Never heard of most of these
Mike looks like he has fell out with lee............. not interaction
Not sure how accurate these are? Funky Moled wasnât written by Jeff and the Beat, especially songs werenât. He was the producer.
I was 8 years old when this song come out still remember in 2024 where has all years gone
I don't think he meant gratuitous in the way most people think, otherwise he wouldn't say the word "classic" or say that it was "a moment to share with the whole world", but who knows....
genius
Jeff is a brilliant singer, and I love that he has recorded a lovely old song that I'd forgotten about. I hope that he records more of these golden oldies. Thanks Jeff â€
It's a stretch to go from writing songs for others to producing their songs Thumbs down for not including "Xanadu" by Olivia Newton-John
It would be nice to give the criteria to each song. Written, produced etc.
You'll find it in the video's description.
At TEXAS STADIUM.
When I Was 17 I Got to see Joe Walsh Marshall Tucker and the Allman Brothers. It was the concert of a lifetime.
Our Brummie Beach Boy and a most wonderfully talented artist.
â€
100x better than Vince Neil
Is that Martin Fry from ABC playing saxophone ?
One of the best sounds to come out of the seventies
I love ELO
There is no point to songs like this anymore , modern songs do not need introduction (intro), verse, pre-chorus, chorus, verse, pre-chorus, chorus, bridge, and chorus. Modern songs use the Splodge Method and if you listen you can hear the drone that tells the audience to switch on their phone and use the built in torch app.
â€Class of 71†here in 2024â€
Fire On High???
Thank you for supporting vets!đ
looks like it was aimed at some of the band members leaving??? rosie and her sister? and a couple of others?
Wow! Che sorpresaâ€
Jeff Lynne is timeless I was born 1963 My son 1993 And granddaughter 2017 And we are all giant fans. My granddaughter at 7 can sing all his songs
Roy used to live by me.
I don't remember Jon Camp playing a double neck!!
Roy sans makeup or hair color post Move is rare
I hope they do a live taping of the last concert
Who's here in 24/7/24â€â€â€â€
I love all ELO songs!
Absolute RUBBISHâŠ.these hired hands werenât even born when ELO recorded and performed a more inspired performance LIVE
Not bad but these sub par backing band members are nothing like the Classic ELO lineup from the 70âs
So sad Jeff hasnât recorded anything that doesnât sound like Traveling Wilburys and more like Electric Light Orchestra since Arm Chair
God gave us a wonderful gift, which is you men. Thanks
One of the best players!
Nice to see an interview with George Harrison where The Beatles aren't mentioned
Imagine being this cool in your mid 70s!
