we have VR - makes a boring video when you can't see what the driver can see. if the screens come closer they will get smashed by the sim

@@gadgeroonie Thank goodness you use VR. That’s what this rig deserves. I’m surprised you couldn’t mount the monitors above the rig outside the vertical travel range and with a better FOV than right now.

With a motion platform and triple screens running at 200fov 🤣

The pedals are custom made with hydraulic brake, the clutch is an add on from g29. The shifter is modified with 3d printed parts to replicate a specific race car

So if you go to calibrate controls you can set a key to change the camera view, for example out key we use is C

It's a combination of welding, painting, software, electronics, control systems, motor drivers, and a lot of head scratching. It's not an easy question to answer in a small response, but that's the basis of the work done. As for price, it would be around £25,000 to build

You don't really know what you are talking about. The brake pedal is a hydraulic pedal with master and slave cylinders with a pressure sensor for load, which is the closest you can get to a real car, and the clutch is an add-on for standing starts.

@@gadgeroonie Same what I did, he means because of the Logitech clutch lol. I run Asetek Forte pedals with a Logitech clutch since I don't want to spend 300 euros for a clutch as of now.

Its a common mistake to get the surge axis wrong, when you brake the seatbelt pulls on your chest and you push against the wheel and pedals, when you accelerate the seat pushes you in the back. Check out our other sim a Cruden Hexatech 6dof

@@gadgeroonie Mmmmm. My platform has amazing surge emulating the braking and accel G forces. But I do have a bit of a left of centre design to what a lot of other builds are. My trolley rail system mimics surge just like in a performance car ( I own one), but my surge polarity is setup opposite to yours. I get what you are saying and for your sim platform I can see how that works. It's a beautiful thing.

Yes, it helps with learning different tracks and cars, and helps to improve driving lines, throttle control and braking inputs!

@GadgetLive-wr1se It certainly makes it harder to drive in a game due to being thrown around so much depending on your forces and how they are setup. The difference between a motion sim and a static rig is staggering.

Your seatbelts should pull tighter when you brake, moving backwards is the correct simulation

@@gadgeroonie Your body forced to move forward. That is the correct simulation. Use seatbelts on the sim seat, and then xou got the tight seatbelt feeling too. Look at the other motion sims. None of them are moving like yours.
