The hair you scoop up, is the hair you roll over/above the smaller section. The smaller section is the next section to have the extra hair added (scooped up).

The braid out and twist out both look amazing! I tried a braid out once and couldn't unbraid them. I realized later that when you get to a point you should just twist the ends. Anyhow, to open the braids I ended up cutting off the ends. Twist outs I love because my hair holds the style well. I retwist them each evening and the style lasts for about 10 days. If I need to extend wash day a couple days I will just split the twists and spray a little water to revive them.

When you do a rebraid do you brush your hair at all?
