Sometimes in the 90’s I would hear them close to the northern section of Alma depending on the weather since they were pointing the other direction.
I love when Dallas screamed out in the horseshoe tavern all you motherfukers 🤡👿🤡
The Sadies unintended ✅✅. Is the Best E.P...so far..
As an Aussie kid in the 70s out public broadcaster the ABC aired this in school holidays loved it for years
The good old days lol.Watched this with my father every Sunday
Yeah I love this show too❤ the good old days
Met the man...saw the band. Dallas is missed.
You can hear them Faceing Downtown in Stanley park I Had the Fun Experience in person and even sang O Canada to them. They are Blaring loud
Swanson also did the Pacific Great Eastern railway horns (BCRail)and BC FERRIES V class ferries
For decades atop the Old BC hydro building (now "The Electra") i wasn't even aware that they had been moved until a couple of years ago
Loved Dallas since the days of Phonocomb..What a tragic loss and a damn shame. Wish Travis all the best in his valiant effort to keep on rocking in whatever world we now all find ourselves in... ("Good" or, bad)
I want all 380 shows .......Please release this show!
❤Dallas was as old school as it gets....a broke leg never held him back, especially when the Sadies played a Halifax show. ❤💔❤(I tried to buy the band shots of whisky, by putting the platter on the side of the stage, and slinking away in the shadows, but Travis wouldn't let me, and scolded me for making his crippled brother Dallas, limp across the stage in a hurry, to cheers the shots, and all of us drink them together.)
This is an amazing tribute to Dallas. But it is also the perfect reminder of what good music does... It endures. Dallas maybe gone but what he left us will never be. I miss you my old friend. Say hi to Brat
Great great great band.
The first few years were great. After a while it became clear that they were being carried by Canadian content benefits. A free market network would have cancelled it before 1980. I’d love to get the DVD’s for the first 5 seasons.
Did you realize The Beachcombers is 50 years old and yet CBC refuses to release it on DVD, something to do with copyright, grow up CBC and release it.
Ha! I can see the back of my head in that ol video. I liked that bar. Fun days.
I will always Love The Sadies and Dallas Good . They made me love life and art, and music more than I ever would have expected. I'l will always have a hole in my heart, but I will keep filling iy with love and music I love you Sadie
God damn they were soo good
p̴r̴o̴m̴o̴s̴m̴
Those are some loud horns
If only CBC would offer the entire series on DVD. I would love to watch them all over again. Its sad only a few exist on CZcams, mainly the newer ones which weren't as good.
Grant - thank you for such a well-deserved tribute. I still can't believe that Dallas has left us. It hurts. He and the rest of the Sadies have been musical heroes of mine since their 1st album. I'm grateful that I got to experience their might on the NY/NJ stages over the years - and I have the ringing ears to prove it! .
I’ve been closely following The Sadies’s career for 14 years now, and have loved everything they have done. Dallas’ passing hit me hard. I’ve only ever met him a handful of times, but he was always a lovely person, and very kind.
The characters of Nick, Relic, Molly, Jesse, Captain Jack, Constable John, Sara, Pat, Tommy, Laurel, Hugh, Graham, Margaret, McLoskey, Dana, Sam, Sal, Chief Moses all played memorable roles in this great tv series. The Beachcombers re-runs need to be on tv and/or available to free stream and/or on DVD- it's a Canadian treasure! A CBC The Beachcombers tv marathon? The actors who portrayed Nick, Molly, Relic, Captain Jack & Jesse have all passed away... RIP 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Vancouver has the Gastown Steam Clock, the 9 O' Clock Gun, and the Heritage Horns, they really love their unusual timepieces
I recently saw the 9 o’clock gun when I took a walk in Stanley Park.
I need a link to that amazing performance of Cut Corners from Stromolopolous Tonight, that was the first time I heard the Sadies.
I was in North Vancouver when they went off. They didn't actually sound that loud
Because you're in North Van
@@Licas13882 I got my places wrong. I was in West Van.
@@Basinrailseven further away
Seen them with Heavy Trash @ the Horseshoe in t.o. - figured it wouldn't be mentioned here. Heavy Trash was Jon Spencer hiring Dallas. Idk if it was the Sadies, but the awesome Jon Spencer (pussy galore, jsbe, etc) used Dallas (pretty sure it was the Sadies and Jon Spencer=Heavy Trash.
beautiful tribute
Oof, what a huge loss. RIP Dallas. Happy that they will continue touring with guests etc., Not like the pussy foo fighters. Sadies rule.
I've been listening to you on CBC radio for years. What an experience to see you in person.
Such a great band, such a great musician. You are greatly missed. We were looking forward to seeing you again here in Spain.
Serious tragedy. I cant help suspecting the jab played a part in this. Dallas was a King among men. What a terribly tragic loss. My condolences to family and friends.
I have heard that from grouse mountain wen I was skiing
I’ve actually been up there in the morning at like 6:00am in the morning.
0:55
Here is the time where they go off 55
0:57 Sounds like it’s time for Spongbob to go to work.🙂
These would probably disintegrate SpongeBob😂
The best crosswalk sound 🤙🤙
Can agree haha
Wee woo woo woo
Thanks! I've been wondering about this for the last year!
Sounds like the Queen of Vancouver bcferry
same Horns as many of the BC Ferry ships , Made by Airchime .
Their more 150 dB loud and it can be heard on the near by Rocky Mountain tops and beyond.
I think you mean the Coast Mountains? The Rocky Mountains are about a 10 hour drive from this horn. :)
@@grantlawrence7579 Yes Coast Mountains like Grouse Mountain for example.
@@grantlawrence7579 Imagine if you could hear this from the Rocky Mountains!
That's heavy duty hair mousse sir.
product-free, actually
A little odd but better than the machine guns in San Francisco.
I was vacationing in Palm Springs and they had the exact same gun shot sound on the cross walks. Not sure why anyone thought that would be a good idea.

if you have ever heard the WSF Spokane horn, wou will find that they sound very similer, also, the eagle would have been a great thumbnail for this video
Only the low notes sound like Spokane. But the rest sound more like B.C.F coastal’s.
