Saab NG9-5 Cluster in 9-3 2004
Is it possible to fit a more modern Saab NG9-5 Cluster in a Saab 9-3 ?
The answer is YES with a gateway module that we are working on. It will work on NG9-3 2003-2006. On the 2003-2006 all warning messages are still intact on the original SID near the windscreen, and all telltales in the original cluster will be implemented and working in the new cluster.
Later on i will think about the newer 9-3, but its much harder to fit on the 2007- since the the original cluster needs to be dissassemble and hidden behind the dashpanel, otherwise the car wont have turn indicator sound, park assist sound, all configurations in the built in SID wont work, the Ip-switch panel with Night panel etc wont work.. Especially a lot more (all) warning messages must be implemented in the gateway, and some might not be possible since the NG9-5 cant handle convertible warnings etc).

Plan to be ready end of 2022. Focus is on cars with Trionic7 (1998-2009) and EDC16 1.9TID (2006-2009). On cars with the facelifted display (2006-2009) it will be possible to use the whole display, on the older ones it will be max paramaters at a time, like OpenSID. eSID will be able to start/stop OpenSID directly from the eSID (like going in/out from a group)

In the new eSID3 software the extra light relay can be controlled by eSID according to configuable parameters. In this video the relay is controlled to be active when eSID Unlock Light function is active to also activate underfloor light.

The latest eSID3 softwares gives the driver and estimated XWD percentage on the display. 100% = All power to rear wheels. Due to low accuracy it cannot display values lower than 10 exact, instead it displays "lower than 10 %" when the value is above 0% (clutch open) and less than 10%.

Shouldnt the abs light also glow when turning on the ignition? Shame you couldnt fit the ”grill” part around the cluster that the ng 9-5 has..

I've just completed the installation of my IPC 650 Gateway in my 2006 9-3 2.8L Aero convertible , it is so amazing. The electrical connections are exceptionally easy, all plug-n-play. I went to the Auto recycling place (junk yard) and picked up a dahboard bezel just to test the fit. It took less than an hour to trim (I was taking my time). Everything appears on the new cluster. I have Sentronic shifting and the manual gear indicators even appear. I took my 9-3 ICM and stripped it down to just the printed circuit board removing faceplate, dials, and rear panel. I’ll find a place in the dash for that so my Tech2 will always function. Thanks Henrik, for a superlative device.

Is there a function right now or with a future update to automatically fold in the electric mirrors if a 9-5 has them? Nice to see it on the 9-3s, but it would be appreciated on the 9-5s as well I think.
I saw this a few months back and love it. Would love to do that on my 2006 9-3. Is there any chance we could get an update/tutorial on this at some point? Also, to make it look nicer and more “stock” I guess some sort of backplate/panel for this cluster could be made and added. I have a few ideas on how I’d potentially do that, but I would need to understand the implications of this conversion a bit better! Cheers from Spain!

hello, I have a saab 9-3 from 2006 with a 1.9 diesel, I want to put the turbo pressure on the display, I already put the pointer motor and the led but nothing works
I actually prefer the original 93 dials, very clean and crisp.
Det är trist att SAAB aldrig hann tillverka en riktig 9-3 NG med samma nya finesser som 9-5an fick. Insignia-ratt, den här instrumentpanelen, HUD, panoramatak, CIS, mm. En vacker dag kanske man kan installera den här i en post 2008 årsmodel också. Passar lite bättre in med utseendet liksom 🙂

In 9-3 facelift with cluster and steering wheel form 9-5NG there would be amazing effect. Amazing work, but I’m devastated that there are no plans for fitting it to facelift 9-3 - saying that as someone who have fitted 9-5ng steering wheel to 9-3 facelift 😢

Its a lot more work. But as said If you manage to keep the cluster hidden somewhere, then it will work.
I also have an NG 9-5 steering wheel I’d like to fit! Do you have any advice to get the steering wheel controls working? And airbag safely plugged in?

How do you turn cleaning mode on? 🤔. Mine is clogged and doesn't jump into cleaning mode automatically....
Bro, you still have 10mm positive wire from generator to starter. (Bad start engine and other electric issues). You need 50mm from generator directly to battery. That how it should be, but manufacturers save millions in copper with 10mm

This is soo cool and long awaited! I just switched cars with my dad who mainly drives highway so the more comfortable 2008 9-5 SC TiD with extralights suites him better while i got the 2011 9-3 SC 160 TiD. This will be on the shoppinglist for his birthday next year!

@@jeffreycornell857.... Cluster is different, yes. Can bus system is identical to earlier and og9-3. Nothing behind the cluster is changed. Its a minor facelift, that's all.
