HUGE welder! CAT powered SAE-600 sat for 15 years!
This welder sat for 15 years, and allegedly has 800 amps of welding power. However, it currently has zero amps because it doesn't run. Join me as I tinker with a 69 year old diesel engine and it's cantankerous starting system! Today we get the gasoline-powered starting engine to run.

WORLD'S FASTEST welder storage!

I built a new, more efficient way to store my welder. Don't try anything in this video yourself, as lots of money and maybe life and limb are on the line if anything goes wrong. Also, don't forget to smash the like button, but wear gloves and safety goggles while doing so.
I bought a new truck for $16K

Use TWIST DRILLS in ANY MAG DRILL!
zhlédnutí 656Před 3 lety
I just got a Nitto Kohki QA-5000 mag drill, but it will only take annular cutters, not twist drill bits. I wanted to use twist drill bits, so I came up with a way to do it anyway. Enjoy!
WILDFIRE is coming... so I built myself a protective drizzle.

I live in a fire-prone area and wanted something more to protect my house. So I built a sprinkler system that surrounds it completely with a shower of water. It's kind of like having a rainstorm on demand that conveniently wets a strip of ground several feet wide close to the house. Before you get too excited... Build a transmission cross member the right way | Rocky Rebuild Episode 3
zhlédnutí 923Před 4 lety
I swapped a Toyota transmission into my Daihatsu Rocky and I needed a new cross member to support it. I could have just welded it on but that would hinder removing or working on the transmission in the future so I built a bolt-on cross member instead. Enjoy! Crazy we both seen a 4 year old video within 2 hours of each other. I’m looking to get into a Feroza out here in Indonesia and was curious to see what kind mods people were doin. Do you own one?
@@Thegentlegoon not yet. I’ve been looking for one but they are incredibly rare in the USA, there is one for sale local to me that is extremely rusty. Thinking about getting it
Bit kaise lagaye sir
I swapped my one with a toyota 2l-t engine

Amazing video
Q motor de Toyota le instalo.. quiero cambiarle a mi Rocky uno
Did it hook up to transmission
ill subscribe if you get the rocky going again..

Well.....I was searching this channel for episode 4 (?) of the Daihatsu Rocky engine/gearbox swap.......I couldn't find it....but What do I see in this video 4.56 mins in....??? The Daihatsu in the back ground still in the same place that it was (episode 3) one year before....3 years ago Guess the swap didn't work out?
I have a broken water pump here in Botswana I can't get it, any pump similar to it, help plz
What happened to the bolts matching the Daihatsu engine? did you get it line up/fixed? asking since I may try to do the same....:)
“Humour” is very grating.
Dude I am your 100th subscriber 😃 do I win a T - shirt or something? Only joking. Can't believe you only have 100 subs. Love your channel. Where is your accent from? How is your Rocky running now? I have a Daihatsu Fourtrak (UK market model) which came as standard with a Toyota engine. Think they were marketed as the Toyota Blizzard in the US.
What’s the name of the air drill you have
This is wild.
Agree with everything you said
First time I've seen denim shop rags....I like it :)
Well I spent all my money on the welder so the shop rags were done in frugal mode 😆
@@ironbeaver6024 hey sometimes jeans just get way too far gone. I always toss em, but I may start doing this for wiping down rusty/sharp parts. Sometimes they'll just shred a cotton t-shirt!
Waste not want not! Denim is not very absorbent for me but I do love it for heavier duty shop rag uses.
It's never too late for speech therapy.

are you singing the song in the background? multiple talents. I heard that you speak/sing spanish as well.
I am, it helps with copyright claims if I use public domain (usually traditional) music and sing my own rendition. I do speak Spanish as well, I'm kind of a linguistics nerd on the side.
continious
Hmmm, welding in the rain, sounds like fun 😁
It's a nice system but how do you refill your tanks?
Welding in the rain is so much fun, but at least that means fewer fires. To refill the tanks I will lift the skid out with the gantry crane and set it on the ground or somewhere so I can remove them at lesiure
I got here because of tfl but im staying
Thanks! Hopfully if I get a break I can get forward on some projects :)

Hello , actually I have the same Feroza 1.6 with a broken engine, I am looking for a bigger engine to swap . So I really appreciate any help here
The 22R seems to be a not too difficult swap. Stay tuned ;)
Please let us know what is going on with the project
My day job (that pays for all these projects) has been keeping me on the jump lately! Also it's been cold and snowy for what feels like forever. Spring is allegedly around the corner though and hopefully I get a break someday :)
@@ironbeaver6024 Got it! Thank you!
Can a 3rz-f work in a feroza
Not sure; I have heard of it being done and I don't think they took up too much more space than than the 22R/RE. Good luck!
Did you ever get the rocky going? Need a another video of it
Hey buddy. The "Rocky" you have there is more commonly known to the rest of the world as a "Feroza". They come with the 1.6L HD engine which is the same as the engine in the Applause and Charade. The Daihatsu "Rocky" the rest of the world got is bigger and has a 2.8L diesel (usually turbo). The engine you bought it with is the factory engine.
Thanks! Yeah, Daihatsu names are confusing. I call it a Rocky when I'm not thinking about it because that's what it says on the side. I think they are the Feroza in South America and the Sportrak in the UK. The HD engine in the US came in two versions. One for the Rocky which was 1.6L, and the one for the Charade which had a slightly shorter block and a slightly shorter stroke and was 1.3l. As far as I can tell, everything else was the same. I don't think the Charade was ever offered in the US with the 1.6L HD engine, I only know of a 1L 3 cylinder and a 1.6L. At least stateside, the HD engines seem to blow head gaskets every 100k miles I measured the displacement of the engine I bought it with and it was 1.3L
@@lewishein5731 Yep, you're 100% correct. You've obviously done your research. It was also Feroza in Australia and many parts of Europe too. The head gasket issue is usually caused due to over heating. I have a supercharged feroza and been a bit of a fan for a few years, if I can help with anything drop me a line. I also have a Fez with a Toyota 1JZ turbo in it but I'm about to scrap it as not viable (money pit). Check my chanel for both.
Seriously good content as always! Please keep uploading! I look forward to your next video!
Thanks!
Air tools never gonna be obsolete they can handle everything! How is the Daihatsu Feroza Project?
The Feroza project is awaiting an engine right now. It's going to end up with the engine out of my Hilux whenever the builder finishes the new Hilux engine
@@ironbeaver6024 Amazing! Can't wait to continue watching that modification series!
The Hilux is now back on the road so as soon as the snow stops falling and melts instead maybe I can get some quality Daihatsu time in

Thanks! More videos are in the pipeline to come out soon. The Rocky is awaiting parts (like all projects seem to eventually). Greetings from Wyoming.
I've got a rocky with a dead engine too. What transmission do you plan on using?
I am going to use a Toyota G52 transmission (found behind the 22R engines in the mid 80s). It is a little on the long side, plus the shifters aren't quite right but I think I can make it work. Stay tuned ;)
