Out of the hundreds of songs my dad wrote, this one is my all-time favorite. He wrote it as a tribute to one of his favorite past-times: Whenever it rained, he would drop whatever he was doing and run outside to dance in it. Most of the time, me and my brothers would join in too. He kept this up all the way until he couldn't - perhaps the last time he danced in the rain was in 2016. But I like to keep the tradition going, in honor of his memory and playful spirit.
Brian Keith Voiles, who passed away on 3/21/23, always wanted his music and album, White Trash Funk, to find a niche audience. In honor of his memory, I picked the guitar back up to learn all of these songs to share for him.
My dad is the reason why I play guitar. He played it ever since he was a kid, and he introduced me to many of the greats: Earl Klugh, Eric Johnson, Stanley Jordan, Steve Vai, the list goes on...
