First Couples Ride for 2024 on the Enfield's
Cracking review, thanks! I've just ordered a 2023 DCT model. Picking it up Friday. I've been using my trusty 2018 Africa Twin Adventure Sports as a daily for 3 years. Fantastic bike and surprisingly good as an all rounder. I've done tours, trails and city riding and really enjoyed the bike. However! It's really too tall, even with a lowered rally seat. And it's waaaay too top heavy. I've got a 300kg Pan European and that feels way lighter than the AT. So, I took the plunge, tested one, loved it, did the deal and am currently taking bits off the AT to add to the NC next week! Tbc...
Congratulations Simon, enjoy your new motorcycle, you will love it !
I frankly do not give a shit how good it is. It is built in China. Every business in China is on the hook to the government. I will NOT spend multiple thousands of dollars that will directly benefit a government openly hostile to mine. Fuck 'em. the big 4. nothing else.
Thank you for uploading this video, now I'm not getting ripped off by $300 just for general service and oil change, gonna do it my self, oil and filter only gonna cost me like $50 - 60 total
Good job !
I'm probably being dumb but do you need the MotoScan to reset or is there any other way to reset, and is it easy to reset - where do you get it from and cost?
Hi. You can purchase these on eBay. The only way you can turn the service light off without it, is set you clock backwards
Great video 🎉 Pick up my Dontinental GT 650 next week 😊
Congratulations!
@@nicksepisode thanks 🙏 I could not justify the Huge cost of a Triumph 😂 after trying a speed twin 900 and the Enfield
hi Nick, a bit late perhaps, but can you tell me where you purchased the GS R1200 decal on the fuel tank, cheers
Hi Ian it was already on there when I bought it
thanks for your quick reply Nick, and I trust you’re enjoying your GS. I have the same year model, a wonderful machine.
Give me a vstrom or versys anyday even a year old one
Yes please
Iv had a 2020 v strom and the cfmoto 800mt is better in every way
Can't think of any other manufacturer that can give you that much bike for that money.
Truly impressive
New yes but if you want rid in 2 yrs proof of low cost may be not such good news
A pretty nice vehicle. I really tried to find something to "discredit" this bike with, but..... it's not so easy to do 🤷♂ While Honda keeps on stinging out things like - CC, good suspension, tubeless wheels .... on their "lower end" bikes - CF Moto takes over the marked. Really - WHAT could cost Honda to install tubeless ( or alu ) wheels + CC on their new Trans... ??!! And/or make the NC750 a PROPER bike - good ( min 15cm travel ) suspension, CC, nicer dash..... Yes - if for some, the KTM 790 is too KTMish - THIS CF Moto is a good alternative. I may go and buy it myself ( shit - where am I'm going to store all of them ?!? 😆) ! Well done Nick 😀😀👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Spot on mr waves -!
Very nice bike…..I wish I had the opportunity to take out various bikes….but very little choice in Jersey, in saying that I will never get shot of my NC…….but to add to it….mmmm….now there’s a thought…cheers from a very hot sticky island.
It’s pretty hot and sticky here at the minute lol. I’m waiting on a nc750x revamp, it’s way over due !
@@nicksepisode Hi Nick….will be interesting to see if and when a revamp may occur…..having had my DCT variant for 18 months now, abusing it on Jersey’s awful roads, I think a second disc up front would be good, maybe a more modern dashboard and just maybe cruise control….I really enjoy my bike, the DCT is a dream to use, oddly enough I do get throttle fatigue fairly quickly, unlike when I rode before back in the 70’s and 80’s, but that might not be down to throttle by wire, it might be my old injuries giving me issues…..I am still the only person on the island who has this kind of bike, it does turn heads funny enough…..people thinking, what’s that…..riding such a nice bike hehe…..cheers, enjoy your videos very much…cheers from a much cooler island.
Out of the present crop of Chinese brands including Benelli and Moto Morini I think CFMOTO are offering the best price and all round choice of bixe. The 450 MT and it's sibling the 450 CLC look like very good mid weight offerings. I had to watch this video twice as it went grainy or fuzzy half way thru. No idea what combinations of function keys I accidently pressed but I knew it wasn't your editing skills🤗 P.S hadn't been drinking either.
It’s could have been my insane editing skills haha. I have a new program and too much enthusiasm for using effects at the minute lol
Enjoyed your review, currently looking at this bike as a road tourer as it looks like excellent value. Have sat on one and it seemed top heavy. You mentioned the turn in how it is slow . Could this be because of the weight distribution?
It’s quite a top heavy bike, but I did have the panniers on. I would like to try it without the panniers. Maybe the suspension needed adjusting. It felt slow to turn, but I suppose it’s not a sports bike so I may have expected too much from it. Especially as I’d just taken the supermoto 701 out prior this
It’s been very helpfull mate jimmy australia
You’re welcome
buuuut the service light is still on just like mine … no mention of that hehe
Have a look I do explain it lol
Nice very clear and concise 👍
Thank you
Great review Nick, I’ve got an interceptor and I think that’s got enough power, good to hear you think the same about this engine considering some of the faster bikes you’ve owned and reviewed. 👍
Thank you. I think this is the sweet spot for power, all you’ll ever need. Keeps you out of trouble with the law too lol
hi nick.. great vid.. very helpfull... i have just bought one... how long till engine is fully run in.? ive had a honda from new the running in period was soo BORING... it loosened a bit at 1500 miles.then fully about 5k miles....wondered if the enfield is simillar..? the tappets look simple to adjust im a fairly competent home mechanic( i detest main dealers) i will be able to do this easily...every 6k seems way too much for a low revving engine..maybee its to keep the £ going into dealers.. ? nice 18" wheels for kents pot hole strewn roads....
I’d say about 1200 miles the engine loosens up. I never took it easy from new, run it in hard! The service schedule is worth sticking to especially if you can do it yourself. Congrats on the purchase, you have a great bike !
Jjuaan breaks belong to Brembo brand, as I konw ain't so bad
Wider and flatter bars change the whole feel of this bike, making it a lot more playful
Great advice
The washers are called Doughty washers just in case you lose them.
Have you any tips for altering the suspension? I’m thinking of adjusting mine to try it a bit more stiffer.
Non of the suspension is adjustable
@@nicksepisode Ah ok, was unaware of that, thanks
Is it the DCT version?
No this is the manual version. Dct is much better
Could you try the Moto Morini Xcape please nick.(versys engine) if you can find a dealer?. Good luck.
I’d love to but no “decent” dealers near me that sell them
That was fantastic - thank you very much. Do you have a link to the workshop manual with the torque specs and clearances etc?
Hi thanks for your comment. If you perform a Google search for the workshop manual you’ll find it. I can’t remember the site I found it from but it was a royal Enfield forum.
I went to my local dealer on an open day to try the Hunter and was then offered a ride on one of these. I didn’t expect to like it but it was great apart from the rear suspension. So it’s a choice between this or the sensible Honda NC.
Have you tried the shotgun ?
@@nicksepisode I don’t much like the look of it. Perhaps like the SM it will look better in the flesh. I intend going to have a look at the new Himalayan 450.
Does doing your own servicing invalidate the warranty?
It’s does indeed unfortunately, depends if you want to risk it. If you can service it yourself you’ll save hundreds
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 But to be serious - u'd better note down some points 4 reviewing, because some / sometimes you skip 🙄 : SERVICE intervals/costs ! FRONT light ( some, actually DO use these things in darkness, and ONE /10000 vloggers mention this point 🤢) ! TC ? CC ( this one you've mentioned ) ? Slipper Clutch ? .... And forks - upside down = not only good for mounting radial calipers. They do work better 🤷♂ Besides all that - the naked bike concept IS more fun than the "touring" ( with big windscreens ). The naked gives a feeling or RIDING A BIKE !!! ... IF you are ready to get all the 🦟🦟🐜🐜🕊🕊🐝🐝🦗🦗all over the visor / in the mouth - on warmer days + freeeezing when it gets chillier ..... 😀 PS - wa-happened to the testing of GUZZI ??! 🤔🤔
Thanks for your input. I’ll take note
If it's of any Use . I have Had my Z650 Since 2020 Service intervals ( after the First 600mile Break in ) Are 7.500 Miles or Every Year It's not a Bad Idea To Sign up For a 3 years Service Plan when You Buy a New Kawasaki If you Can Afford it as it works out Cheaper Valve Check is at a Very Respectable 24,000 Miles I went to Michelin Road 5 Tyres Suited My Z 650 Very well I have Found the Build Quality Good The Pipes Bronze up So have to Get the Solvol Autosol Out often Headlights Brilliant maybe to Much Cars always Flashing me at Night Even on Dip The TFT is so Clear to Read Even in Bright Sunlight
I’m just about to pull the trigger on the Suzuki SV650 (or maybe sv650x). The Kawasaki is just as good, just the looks aren’t my bag and there are fantastic deals to be had on Suzuki at the moment
IMO the Suzuki is better, the engine has more character
@@nicksepisode what about the Hornet 750 ?
Z650rs looks retro like sv650
Keep the revs between 5-8k and this thing is a blast keeping the front end light
Great review nick i would say perfect first big bike.
Yes it really is. Thanks for your comment James
I am an Older Rider wanted a Lighter Bike That would Be Fun for Back Road Blasts My Z650 has Been Brilliant Really Good Brakes up Front
What good is the fuse puller if you have no fuses?
There are fuses under the lid
@@nicksepisode ahhh ok. I have a chance to buy a 2021 with 833mi for 4000, do you think it's to much? It is in perfect shape. Thank you. Great video..
I found I could not move around on the seat.
Your are correct, it cups you
Time to loose weight Nick. Z650 looks so much better than the long and ugly Z900
No I like food and BEER more than Kawasaki
Thank you.
You’re welcome

mate I'm an older guy (53) and for some reason just been wanting to ride again. I think I might get one of these as a way back into riding. Starting again from scratch. Thanks for the video
Do it bud you won’t regret it!
Thanks for your candid report. I agree this bike feels a little 'underwhelming' on first try, but longer term ownership reveals a bike that is more 'quietly competent' than is obvious at first. Now over 15,000 kms on my white one here in Australia (and with thousands of kms on dirt roads) I can report that it gets better with time/miles. The engine becomes smoother, noticeable around the 4 - 5,000 km mark, the engine sound also smooths, and the ideal clutch action, remarkable fuel economy and easy balance at low speeds mean this bike grows on you. I say that after 61 years riding (and working on) motorcycles, and 50 years as a 'Ducati person'. I also have the bear-grip Honda footrests, and yes, they tingle a little more than the rubber ones, but are also slightly lower, more comfortable ergonomically, and way better for standing up. The vibes are negligible once you have done those initial miles. I also recommend reversing the handlebar risers for those over about 5' 9", for a much better steering 'feel'. I also got the wind deflectors 'thrown in' (along with the footrests) on purchase, as one of the first buyers in my state, and they DO help with the wind. But as has often been said, this bike is 'more than the sum of its parts', and is a great all-round 'daily'. I don't need cruise control or a quickshifter, and the fact that so many 'extras' are available at extra cost at least keeps the initial purchase price down, and gives the buyer the choice. Of course aftermarket offerings (like the bash-plate) are generally more keenly priced than Honda's accessories... A few downsides, like the lack of ambient temperature reading, or engine oil window, the funny-looking headlight (which isn't great as a light either, encouraging the purchase of the accessory lighting I guess) but for the price, it is a lot of bike. The heavier 800 Suzuki $3,000 dearer in this country, and the charming Aprilia almost half as much again as the Honda. But I am seriously enjoying the Honda, now nine months in, and would encourage those unsure to give it a try. Only the air filter access to criticise really, and I've only done that once so far, when I fitted a cleanable K & N. At least the original filter wasn't that dirty (at 13,000 kms) for how many dirt miles I have done. But this thing grows on you, and I ride mine most days, in spite of having several bikes. I like it much more now than I did on the initial test ride, and I am glad I got it in spite of some initial misgivings. It seems to take a while for it to reveal its smoothness and usefulness!
Thanks for sharing your real world experiences, that’s much more informative than someone riding it for a couple of hours and waffling. This comment has earned a well deserved pin.
I will be referring to this vid once my 300 mile service is due on my 2023 GT650. Thx!
Good job 👏
Always good to see how someone else does it and what kit they use! I recently bought a DJI Osmo Action (albeit a 3 not 4) and love it. That gets placed ON my bike for a rear facing view in my videos. For the front facing, I now use a Sena 10c Evo. It doesn't give you gopro/DJI quality video, but I think it's still pretty good (and good enough for me and my current 26 subscribers! 🤣🤣). But the thing I like about the Sena is that it's compact on the helmet and it records the audio from the intercom - so if Lisa (Mrs SteveW) is riding pillion, the video records our conversation onto it without any extra work. I'll probably end up buying more stuff if I get into it a bit more, but for now these do me OK I think. I edit using Cyberlink Powerdirector, mainly because it's the best application I've tried (so far) for stabilisation of the Sena videos (drawback of the Sena is it doesn't have built in image stabilisation). I still need to give CapCut a try, from when you recommended it to me in a previous comment!
Cheers for sharing your set up too Steve, I never knew there was such a thing as an integrated camera with commons, what a great idea! good for insurance purposes too i guess.
@nicksepisode yeah definitely good for using as a kinda dash cam, even if you're not recording the ride specifically for any other reason.
3:28 Dead cat
I like that
thank you for posting this. I will follow it eventually when i actually start making content :P
Good job. I look forward to that
Looking to purchase one of these myself for my first bike! They look great! However seems near impossible to get a quote for these in the UK with the bike being so new! Feel I’ve exhausted all angles!
Try the 350 meteor. It’s just as fun. Cheap to run and insure
We'd like to see how quickly you manage to take the 🐒apart, and assemble it back ! 😀😀
I’ll be pulling bits off the monkey soon
I love my DJI Osmo Action Cameras!
Yeah excellent all round!
You forgot to mention the little dog that came in the tool kit!
My doggies are part of the health and safety team
I ride my Benelli TRK 502X harder than that on muddy dirt bike trails. Push yourself harder or stop making shit videos.
Thanks for the very detailed instructions. I wonder if they are considerably louder than the stock pipe?
No they’re not obnoxious
@@nicksepisode Thanks! Can we remove the muffer on this one? I see that it has a built in muffer tube.
@alviszhao yes you can indeed, it’s not recommended though as it holds the guts of the exhaust in place
