Dublin Zoo & a Disco (UCD Student Experience) | Dublin Diaries #11
[THIS WAS FILMED IN 2022] While studying abroad at UCD in Dublin, Ireland, I did many fun activities. Some involve a Taylor Swift disco beneath a bar, Dublin Zoo in cool November, trying a pomegranate, and even walking to the grocery store under beautiful, sunset-golden fall leaves (the leaves themselves stayed green, like the rest of the Emerald Isle (;). Enjoy this glimpse into student life at Universtiy College Dublin!

SOLO TRAVEL IN SPAIN | Salamanca, Ávila, Madrid
zhlédnutí 458Před 2 měsíci
Solo travel is a scary ambition but the rewards for courage are so wonderful. A good friend of mine, Michelle, studied in Salamanca this year and suggested I visit her. I doubt she expected me to come, but I thought, 'why not?' and promptly abandoned my responsibilities to traverse central Spain. (I've never not been responsible, let me rebel a bit before I graduate). After visiting Salamanca, ...

What is a Family Vacation, Anyway?

Thank you for the informative videos❤
Of course! Happy to help :)
Thank you for the informative videos
Amazing vlog 😮🎉
Amazing comment 😎
I’m currently in Ireland for an internship. I’m south of Dublin in the Kildare area. I would love to hang out with some locals or other people abroad from the states. Respond to this if ur down. I’m a 20 years old dude just tryna make the most of my time here since I’ll be here for two months.
hi i wish i can move to ireland next year hihihi wish me luck
Good luck! Slainte 🍀
Did u live in the village halls @ ucd
No! I lived in Roebuck Hall, which I loved, but the village halls were great, too. A little older, but very conveniently located.
thank you so much! great video :3
Thank YOU! I appreciate it 💚
I love these little diary videos I will be attending ucd this fall for college as well and your videos are being really helpful to me to get a feel of what it is like there so thank you for posting these videos.
Thank you! That is very kind. Good luck at UCD - I am sure you will love it! 💚🍀
Can you give UCD village tour 🥺❤
I would but I am no longer at UCD! They are great, very conveniently located, and I believe you can find virtual tours on the UCD website!
Hey, please I have a question. I just did my biometrics yesterday, but I have a 3 months gap, that's 3 months without doing anything, do you think it will affect my chances for visa approval. It's a study visa by the way, I'm going for masters, and I've paid full tuition fees and my sponsor showed 13k euros as proof of funds and an annual salary of 50k euros. Your reply will be appreciated thanks.
Hi! I have no experience with this so I cannot say, but I am sure if you contact UCD directly they will be able to better answer your query. Good luck!
Have you had a little swim on the Irish shore?
No! It was too cold for me while there - maybe it is an excuse to return one day in the summer months 🤭🍀
You are really amazing😍😍,Are you from Dublin?
cooool vid glad to see people recording on Samsung phones instead of iPhones
LOL I agree but you didn't hear it from me 👀
@@rachelore alrighty samsung fangirl xD
Can I give me ur instgram 😊 I would like to ask
Hi! Do you have the option to live alone (no roommates) with an en suite bathroom?
Hi! I do not believe there was an on-campus option like this, but plenty of students lived off-campus (albeit usually with host families). However, as someone who really values her private time, I thought the setup at Roebuck Hall (and most if not all of the other accommodation halls) worked great with a private bedroom and bathroom but a shared kitchen and laundry room. Overall, it was the perfect mix of shared and independent living.
How is ucc
I could watch you talking into a camera for twenty minutes straight. There's no need to add montages 😌
well if you like nerdy things 🤭www.youtube.com/@rarayhere
It’s too much to handle! ohhh i get it that’s why you post once in 2-3 months so people can endure it. 😏😌
Glad you are building on those UCD vibes. Be well ☘
Thank you! Back at ya 🍀
Alone 😮 you don't feel nervous about your adventures? ❤
Sure, but it's so worth it!!
Wow 🙀 you are so gorgeous

Great Video 👏🏽 , but I just have one question , are peopel in the Irland speaking english ?
Yes! Some towns on the west coast speak Irish, but most of the country is fluent in English.
@@rachelore Think you ! 50% I will studying medicine in Ireland :)
@@Oatmalya Good luck!!
@@rachelore ❤️❤️
So helpful! I might be doing my masters at UCD, so this is great!
That's wonderful!! Happy to help 😊
I have applied to UCD as an international student, how and when do I need to apply for accommodation. Have searched everywhere, but I can’t find anything about it
I received an email when it was time and I believe it brought me to SISWeb for it. However, it only opens at a specific time after you are accepted. For more specifics, you should ask the accommodation department at the school (and also through your program advisors if you are attending through another university).
Moving in Dublin in few months am excited
Good luck!! It's such a wonderful place.
Do I need to speak Irish if I want to study medicine there ?
No! Every one at UCD (and most people in Ireland) speaks English. In the west and in more traditional areas, you could possibly come across someone speaking only Irish but it is rare. The only Irish word I used while theree was "slainte" which has absolutely nothing to do with studying ;)
Hey, just a little question. I'll be moving to Dublin for next year to join Trinity but I have a lot of difficulties to find affordable accodomations. Do you have any recommendations / how did you do to find yours ?
As a UCD student, I got accommodation directly on campus. I am greatful for this because it is notoriously difficult to find accommodation in and around Dublin. I would recommend maybe finding a family to host you if you cannot find something on your own. Whatever you choose to do - good luck!
Many people are of the view that weather in Ireland is very depressing but after seeing you there it doesn't seem depressing at all.
It definitely rains more than in many other places, but I love the rain so I always enjoyed it. Also, fun fact: due to wind patterns, Ireland technically has a temperate oceanic (like tropical but cooler) climate! Winters are mild with little-to-no snow and summers are humid but not despairingly hot. Definitely not depressing for a semester or two!
Thankyou for detailed reply. I keep on watching your videos. Good work. Impressed already

This is a fun look at your life abroad! Great balance of studying & exploring. Wishing you all the good luck and more subscribers.✨ P.S. Your dog is adorable! ❤
Thank you!! I appreciate that 💚 And yes, he knows he's cute and wields that for extra treats. Lol.
You're so cute ❤
Is the international application fee 500€
I don't recall paying an application fee at all, but it may depend where you're coming from, which school you're applying through, and the degree type you seek.
Are animals allowed in the housing ?
Hello! Not that I know of, no - but you may be able to get an exception for service animals. I suggest you contact the school directly about that.

Thank you! Good luck - you will love it! I'm happy to answer any questions as best I can. :)
What semester did you study abroad ?
Fall 2022!
what was your total cost ????
The entire semester, including school costs, flights, living expenses, souvenirs, trips while there, and food came to a total of $22,712.59. However, I only paid $9,270.44 from my own savings due to scholarships (I recommend you apply to anything that could possibly apply to you, big or small). Hope this helps!
Hi how are you are you from Ireland
can you share what's you're opinion on 40% labour tax(from salary) is it possible to save money as a international students
Hi, thank you for your video. Can I ask how long did you have to wait for your offer after you complete your application? I applied to the master in cultural policy and arts management and I need the offer letter to apply to a scholarship. I'm so confused because I have waited two weeks now for the offer, it is displayed "Application Complete & Documents Reviewed" and people on the internet say it can be up to 1+ month
I applied early and heard nothing back for at least a month (maybe more), then realized I made a mistake and withdrew that application to register with a different school in UCD. The second time, I heard back in a week. So, it's very random and there is no standard time period. Good luck!
Great video. My daughter is doing the exact same trip soon. I was wondering how you got to the cliffs from Galway? Same question for Cong as well.
Thank you! She will love it. Buses run right out of central Galway. To the cliffs from the train station, and to Cong through a tour agency (I used GetYourGuide.com). :)
@@rachelore thank you!
A suggestion for the Cliffs - check out Doolin Village, Fish&Chips Gus O'Connor (with Guinness preferably!), then take the land trail from Doolin to the Cliffs - it's one of the most special trails in the world (I've been on a few). The trail crosses what's mainly private lands on the edge of the Atlantic and there's plenty muck and mud a few places so trainers/sneakers easily ruined if not careful. I recall it's about 1-11/2hr to the Cliffs.
❤❤❤
Im moving to Dublin next year to go to DCU. Watching vidos like this calms me after spending hours stressed by accomodation xD
