Failed Electronic Halogen Lamp Transformer - Always check simple first
Failed electronic halogen lamp transformer: Broken quality PCB lead-free ROHS solder joint at the input terminal. Failed completely after some time. Transformers sold with wire pigtails already preinstalled, so likely damaged already at the factory.

Stepper motor at 30kHz step frequency. How many RPM?
zhlédnutí 1,1KPřed 10 měsíci
Just fooling around with stepper motors. This one we could get to reliably run with 30 kHz step clock. Calculate and write in the comments, how many RPM was the motor running at. Motor was plain standard NEMA17, 1.8degree/step.

I have developed a programmable 6 channel audio attenuator. Overall gain range is 6 downto -72dB, with possibility to downprogram channels individually. Provisions for remote MIDI control from the DAW and extendable up to 8 channels. With 4 customizable presets. All inputs and outputs are balanced signals. Device is 19" rack mountable 1 HU. Almost completed prototype shot by a Sony AX33 camera,...

Diy simple single triangle VCO VCA ADSR synthesizer
zhlédnutí 209Před 3 lety
As a challenge, I have breadboarded a simple old school analog synth. Exponential triangle/square VCO, VCA and ADSR. Still need to make some source of the CV and GATE signal. Likely end up programming a MIDI to CV converter. Still needs a lot of work (especially to tweak the VCO, which only works well across two octaves). But as a proof of concept, I think good enough.
Panasonic AG7500 - Capstan spinning, but tape doesn't move
zhlédnutí 204Před 3 lety
Recently got a Panasonic AG7500 professional video cassette recorder. Multiple issues, mostly mechanical. Currently looking for clues, why doesn't the tape advance in play mode, even though capstan now working correctly and following even the JOG wheel. Rewind works normally, play mode does not.
Panasonic AG7500 - Cassette lift repaired.
zhlédnutí 291Před 3 lety
Got a Panasonic AG7500 with lot issues to address: Mostly mechanical ones, due to the low quality grease, that got dry and is stiff like paper glue. So need to disassemble it part by part, clean, regrease or oil and put everything back. The lift mechanism is easily accessible, so I have started with that.

Hi, what driver are you using? I can't replicate your results with linear stage and TB6600? Will this work with some load? The linear stage by default has some load because it has to move the carriage. Thanks.
Never mind the problem is not with the TB6600, in order to achieve the results above one has to ramp up the frequency. For my motors I could not start over 880 Hz, however if started at 880 Hz I could ramp it up to something like 7K Hz. However all of that is without load. Generally speaking I don't see this as a viable approach for faster stepper motor control.
Wow, that is awesome! What kind of driver do you use?
Thats awesome

Hey, do you still know the parts used for this project? This does exactly what I'm looking for and is the only video I've found that uses analog components to do so.
These are digital components. A clock generator with 555 timer, couple of binary ripple counters (something like 4040 and HC0393), largest possible EEPROM chip you can find (programmed with the correct data) and an R2R DAC (resistor ladder) with an LM386 at the end driving the speaker. Sound quality mostly depends on the sample rate you can afford (memory size vs length of recording). 8bits is good enough for most sound effects you may ever want.
@@Sixta16 Thank you very much for the response. I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to electronics so I appreciate it very much. My intent is to build an electronic railroad crossing bell with adjustable speed, so the sound file in particular is less than a second. When programming the ROM, how exactly is it done for sound? Can you use a WAV format? Is there some kind of basic binary form that the sound must be converted to?
Can u share shematic pls
Not needed here really. Just connect the EPM3064 according to datasheet (supply voltage and JTAG). Add peripherals as you wish or like.
This is awesome. Are you on linkedin?
Yes, I am.
Hey, looks pretty cool. I have also been trying to build an SDI to fiber converter, maybe even bi-directional for some time. Do you have an email address for me? Im very interested in your design!
Well, the design is not finished //fully tested// yet and after I have moved, had no time to ever touch it again. Maybe some day later, I will finally make it into a working product.

What is the librery that u use ? 🤔
Librery? What do you mean is librery? You mean library? There is no code, no arduino. Sorry folks. Not everything is done using arduino and libraries.

Is that display has any standalone driver or driven by stm32 mcu...?? How u made such UI? Olease share a guide.
Driven directly by the STM32 using the LTDC peripheral. 4Mx16 SDRAM is used for the frame buffers, RGB565 (16bit) color.
@@Sixta16 and the UI, im very curious about ur works... I'm pushing my learning on stm32 ecosystem, i find people can do amazing stuffs with them.
UI written from scratch, just simple lines and text. There is nothing difficult doing this. I think in this case I have just adapted the basic graphics library that came with the Discovery kit itself. The lin/log plot I have done myself. It is just a bit of math. Plotting the filter response on-the-fly is also easy, just substitute j*omega as Z in the z-domain transfer func of the filter and evaluate it. It is just basic work with complex numbers. You have the advantage of a HW floating point unit, it can chew surprising amounts of stuff.
@@Sixta16 please , share the codes and concepts of ui development, i want learn ur approaches. If a video u can to share the UI development stages, i appreciate ur help.
very interesting, I wonder, if you wish / can share source code ?

Have you solved and fix the problem? I have the same issue. In play start mechanism, the tape doesnt move and the mechanism come back at rest position...
Have not solved it yet. I know, been long time since, but I have moved and this equipment was left at my previous location, waiting to be restored some time in the future. Definitely not going to throw this beauty away. Seems the source of all the problems in this thing is stiff mechanics, due to shitty grease used to lube it.
Lovely! Have you got an e-mail address I can contact you? :) Thank you!
What do you have connected to the video monitor as a source?

How many taps for a FIR filter you can run?
Not sure, never investigated. But I have intended only IIR. Not much reason to use anything past that.

Hey! This is rad! May i ask what computer ic you are using to control the Opl?
An Atmel Microcontroller: at89s51-24pu
I have the same 32f429-disc development board. Why did you removed your onboard LCD from discovery board? was there any reason because i am going to use RGB pins exactly like you (RGB->LVDS). Best regards
I remember the on-board TFT has a "frame sync" output pin, that is hardwired to a GPIO pin, that I needed for something else. That framesync or whatever it is is always driven by the TFT module. It is an error in the discovery kit design.
wow! do you have some more details on the project somewhere? I'm currently trying to work with this chip too :)
