    New 2023 KLR owner here. I have riden towards the end of the day and dusk and I have used my high beam during this time. It seems that the high beam hits the bottom of the trees (higher than low beam) and needs to be adjusted. Have you had to adjust your high beam?

I checked with your method, my headlights were WAY too high, and my high beams were, as you stated, were up in the trees! I'm a new rider (less than 6 months). On any ride, focus on the journey more than the destination. That will help you enjoy the whole trip in general. BUT, I also understand that if you HAVE to be somewhere. TIME It accordingly. I'm a new owner of a '24 KLR650 Adventure model. I wont ever try to go over 70 on it unless I have to pass. At least that what is what I will TRY to do.

    Hola y gracias por el video. Te escribo desde España. Tengo una KLR 650 del 2008. Y soy experto en motocicletas. En mi opinion parece que Kawasaki despidio a sus mejores ingenieros. El nuevo modelo es realmente una catastrofe de rediseño de una moto que funcionaba muy bien, pero que ya necesitaba cambios muy importantes. Han cometido innumerables errores de diseño, han quitado laa cosas que si estaban bien y han puesto muchas cosas muy mal. No entiendo como los altos directores y presidente de Kawasaki no tienen verguenza ajena por estafar a miles de motoristas que han confiado en su marca y venden un nuevo modelo que en mi opinion es una autentica Basura. Yo como experto en preparacion y diseño de motos podria realizar la mejor trail del mundo si tubiese apoyo financiero sobre la base de una KLR 650 modelos desde 2008 al 2018. Y cuando digo la mejor no hablo de un diseño mas; si no de una moto imbatible en todos los sentidos. El mundo esta lleno de cretinos y es una triste noticia ver como han destruido la que considero la mejor moto del mundo. Si la KLR 650 Salio al mercado en 1987 kawasaki deberia pensar en evolucionar su diseño. Y si ya no tienen buenos ingenieros es muy facil hacer las cosas bien, tan solo deberian preguntar a los cientos de miles de motoristas que tienen una KLR sobre que mejorarian. Por dar algunos ejemplos. 1. Hacer un chasis de aluminio 7075 con sub chasis desmontable. 2. Un motor con una carrera mas larga para incrementar mucho mas el par en bajos. 3. Añadir una sexta velocidad esto es realmente necesario. 4. Mejorar la estabilidad de la moto en alta velocidad. 5. Alargar distancia del asiento. 6. Poner un nuevo sistema de carburador hibrido que permite una inyeccion mecanica y no electronica. 6. Quitar absolutamente toda la electrónica. 7. Mejorar al 100% la aerodinamica. 8. Modificar las cadenas de distribucion y del equlibrador por correas dentadas. 9. Poner doble bujia para que el piston queme mas homogeneamente el combustible. 10. Dar una opcion de moto hibrida que pueda funcionar con propano. 11. Cambiar el deposito de combustible y colocarlo debajo del asiento, asi se podria colocar el filtro de aire y componentes de gas debajo de un falso deposito. 12. Poner luces de emergencia. 13. Mejorar al 100% todo el cuadro de relojes. Con rpm, nivel de combustible, presión de aceite, velocimetro y temperatura del agua. 14. Mejorar al 100% todo el sistema de refrigeracion con doble radiador y sistema automatico de control de temperatura. 15. Mejorar el asiento en estética y ergonomia. Bien algunos deben pensar que esto costaria mucho dinero y no necesariamente. Soy el inventor Luis Burgos un saludo.

      Yes, it is pretty good stuff, I would most defiantly say you need to size up if you plan to wear it over protective gear which in my opinion is a very smart all. Just found this video, and while I am looking at a 2016 KLR 650, I am wondering about lowering the bike. I have a question, as I normally ride cruisers, but my question is when lowering the height of the KLR, using the lowering links, would it be required of using the lowering shocks as well? I can ride a 32 inch seat height, but the KLR has a seat height just over 35. Secondly, if only using the links, would it make the suspension less forgiving for a daily commuter? For reverence, I am 6 feet, and 250 pounds.

    • @Heartlanddualsport
      @Heartlanddualsport Před 2 měsíci

      Excellent question and I will start by saying this, I am 6 foot and a little more than 200 pounds give or take depending on how much I am outside. I have found with my weight, I am very comfortable with the stock suspension because there is enough swish in it, I can stand flat footed on the bike with my riding boots on,. Flip flops, which I would never ride in, I have to tippy toe. SO with the boots on, I am comfortable with the seat height. Something to think about and I will say this, since you are already thinking about it. I think you can actually , because I have done it on my cousins bike who was shorter, like 5-10, we put the lower links on his rear, loosened up the triple tree and lowered the front a. smidge.to level it back out if the makes sense. I am no mechanic and I am no suspension guru, but like you have asked, should.something be done to adress the rake angle by lowering the read and I agree it should be, this is one of the cheaper options if that makes sense. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed week. If you are dad, happy fathers day as well. Dale

    I got the adventure 2024 and i wish i didn't because i replaced the plastic paniers that can break when you drop bike (which anyone will do at some point) with the tusk Olympus and no matter what crash bar you buy, you almost always have to remove the flimsy top crash bars, which i replaced with the tusk so to me, there is no reason to get the adventure from the get go, but just the base model. I do love my KLR, i just went overboard.

    Wow man great review. I just got the 2024 klr650 Adventure ABS, after getting tired of Rrbuilding the DRZ400 engine...so much nicer on the highway, and I love the 2024 gteen color scheme. Can't wait to get out and make some content. Foglight switch should be integrated with the lights on the left. Also an ABS cutoff would be nice.

    Helmet free option here in Pa , but I use a cheapo color matched to my KLR nevertheless. I have a rib that still sticks out from laying my xs11 special down when I accidentally hit the gas too hard leaving a stop sign 20 yrs ago. My belief is that if you get in a wreck and hit something solid on a moving bike, you're screwed by any measure anyway. So yeah I wear a helmet, but WON'T wear hard core goofy looking suits or boots. If I die I wanna look cool doin it. edit - and I'm cheap.

      I agree on so many points of this. I had cruise control on my Road King, I didn't have it on my Africa Twin, or my Himalayan, I didn't miss it. For me a full day is 500 miles (800 km). Everybody is different and it also depends on the road your riding. I don't think there is a gravel road that I have traveled that I would use a cruise control on. I like the variety of shots in this video are great but the quality of the video is very rough. Maybe think about increasing the data rate or updating your cameras.

I do appreciate at your concern and will do what I can when I can. I am about to scrap this channel and making 4K videos is not in the budget. I am a one man show and making less than 300 bucks a year it don’t make sense to continue to make higher quality videos. I do apppreciate what you are saying hug brother if we could meet for coffee one day. I could sure find your ear on some ideas about all this stuff on CZcams. Hahah. I started it for one reason. Tried to make money with it for another reason and at this point I am so far in the red it don’t make sense to continue it. Hahahah. Thanks again and I hope you have a blessed weekend. I know KLR guys spending $$ on fork mods to stiffening up their front ends. What I do is install shraider valves (air valves) to my caps. You will have infinite adj.from 0=35 lbs.my dealer charged me 34$ each verses $150+ for shorter springs and the trouble putting them in, , just drill and tap, with an air pump,no tool needed.8=10 psi.dont go more than 35 psi, and your seals will be fine !

    I have never owned a motorcycle ever have ridden them before. I’m in my mid half century. I don’t plan on any Evel Knieval riding. We recently had a local shop opened up and saw the KLR650 Adventurer loaded. I was lucky enough to be able to test ride one. I was really nervous since it had been over 20yrs riding a motorcycle. So really wet behind the ears when it comes to motorcycles. However I do ride a lot road cycles with pedals. The difference is the engine. My first concern was starting from a start. What I found out it just doesn’t jump. Very smooth start and able to go. We rode around the neighborhood getting used to the start, stop, and handling characteristics. Wasn’t long before I started feeling comfortable on it. I felt like the bike wanted to stay under me and I was able to control it instead of it controlling me. As for the weight and being top heavy, I have no comparisons. So it didn’t bother me. I am still pondering on the buying. One thing I like is the price point. Won’t break the bank. With your review and Dork on the Road I feel like you all are straight and unbiased shooters. Blunt and to the point good or bad. Thank You

    I have wanted / still want an Africa Twin, as someone that has ridden both what do you think? would you rather have 2 KLRs or an Africa twin? Agree with you about the fog light button position, seems awkward, also at night in a helmet and gloves its hard. They could have just put a 3 position switch where the high beam is. My mirrors don’t vibrate at all it seems to me, I am just passing 120 miles though, but at 65-70 i could see clearly in the mirrors. after my longest ride which was only 50 miles at 65 my right hand just started to feel it, which I accounted to being new on the bike, I went from a 2 stroke cr250 that I put a skid plate and kickstand on. Here we can ride the ditches and I just got to the point that my body is too old and broken for that bike. Its so nice to just jump on and press a button and ride.

      Where I am at in my life, I would rather have one Paid off KLR over any other bike with a payment if that makes sense? I hope this helps. I loved the AT and had one of the first ones out on the market, and it was a dream bike come true. However at the time, I was working had not retired yet and wasn't on a fixed income. so the paid off bike for me is a much better way to go. I dont like making payments on something I am not using, so the winter months are tough writing checks hahhaha. Dale
