If the drill bit caught that piece of jagged steel in the drill press your hand would look like ground beef.
Yeah, I certainly did not set a good example for inexperienced people with this one. Thanks for pointing it out.
I don’t know if you said it in the video but I wonder how many jugs of glue and gallons of paint this took?
I think I used 1 1/2 jugs of glue. I don't remember exactly how much paint I used, but it was a LOT😄
It’s better to order your canvas. It is way better quality. A lot more consistent and less of the “fuzzy” bits. You also have your choice of thickness and weave. Not to mention that you can get it seamless in almost any size you need.
Great content! Back in the days before fibreglass canvas was the go to for decking on wooden boats.
Thank you! It is really interesting to hear from people what canvas was used for back then!
I'm a retired Plumber with ADHD, so you are the perfect person to help me help myself! I have a double garage that looks like yours and I'm gonna follow your examples with everything your doing! Starting with the tool chest! Thank you Adrian 👍
Good luck with your project! You got a lot of work ahead of you, but it is so worth it!
Vancouver.......beautifull city. Our son and his family live there ( we are grom Holland). So many perfect constructions to see...and don't forget Vancouver Island. In Victoria there is also a beautiful nautical museum . Thanks Adrian!!
I have been only once in Victoria, very briefly. It definitely is on my bucket list, and I can't wait to explore it! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Did you cut the lumber so all the strips were vertical grain?
Yes.
Wise and thoughtful video. I have known 3 people who lost fingers due to metal wedding rings. I wear cheap stone or glass rings. Non-conductive and break easy if placed in tension (broke several - but easier and less cost than to replace a finger). Thanks for taking time to make this video it may save somebodys finger.
I never thought about stone or glass as material for a ring. But from a safety perspective, it makes total sense to me. Thank you for adding another alternative! Cheers!
PMF is very similar to how most aircraft in the 20s and 30s were covered...durable and low cost but the finish quality of modern materials is improved.
That is very interesting! Thanks for commenting!
You are the most underrated youtuber. You deserve more supports from many others! Thank you for sharing your hard work
Thank you! 🙏It is hard work indeed, and it doesn't pay off financially, but knowing there are people out there who appreciate the content makes it all worth it!
Nice work
Thank you!
It’s a boat. Nautical. Love the Ship wheel, think rope, capstan with opposing wraps.
Nice art work
Thank you!
I love the graphic you painted on! That is super cool and well done on the prep for the PMF!!
Thank you!!
liked your vid and assuming your Canadian so love how you show both priced, subed right away
Thank you for the sub! Yes, I am from Canada. If you liked this one, I will have a very similar video coming up in a couple of weeks!

You’re an artist. Somebody make this man do art full time..
😄 thank you Ryan, I really appreciate your comment!
like your style pal
Thank you! I appreciate you taking the time to take a look at one of my less popular videos!
Excellent job, table looks stunning
Thanks, it was a ton of work, but it paid off in the end!
just came across you by accident, I sub'd after the drill bits. Very impressed with your delivery and confidence
Thank you, I appreciate your support! 🙏
Hard work can not be avoided.... OR it can but if you're the poor guy that must repair it, why would you put yourself thru it when you had the chance to do it right? So you gotta do the prep-work between every step & do it right if you want the work to last longer then you'll be alive? Thanks for this video & you've got so much I want to take a look at, so little time? PMF is a concept I've never heard of but now that I think about it, old homes used wood on the walls(planks) & then the older homes used some type of linen kinda like what you are speaking about? We owned a Century Home that looked like "Gone with the Wind" but we did some upgrades & discovered a fabric used on the walls. I bet that's where this idea might've come from? Anyhoo, you've got more videos than I can consume BUT do not worry, I'll be working on them. peace
Thank you for your comment and your support! It's interesting to hear that you have seen a similar technique being used on walls! Cheers!
Yeah, we owned an antique restoration company & we bought an old "Gone with the Wind" 100+ yr old place & my room was in the slave quarters out back,,,, lol, but inside the house we updated the bathrooms & a set of bedrooms. All of the rooms had wood planks where the wallboard are in newer homes but over that wood was a fabric. The home is close to 140yrs old today but when I saw you using fabric it reminded me of those walls because we left it on some of them b/c it was so attached.... let that be a good omen to your work. peace
New subscriber you totally crushed that project awesome
Thank you very much for your support and the compliment, much appreciated!🙏
Wow Adrian.. I'm pretty much speechless and continually impressed by your work. I know I can build things, I know I can have some really creative moments but wow, your work is truly ART. I hope you never stop and continue to grow as an artist and a CZcams personality. You truly deserve it.
Thank you so much for that comment! It is hard sometimes to find motivation for producing a video, knowing that it won't do well on CZcams. But then, every once in a while, you get such a nice comment like yours, and suddenly, you feel like it was all worth it!
@@adrianwoodworm I know how you feel. I’ve been struggling with my own content these last 6 weeks and may just take a break. Be well! And keep on making!
Wow! You are extremely talented ❤
Thank you, much appreciated!🙏
So I'm late to the party & started at Part 6 >> I'll be going back to #1 but may I ask, what did you cover the interior wood surface with prior to fitting the foam insulation? I'm sure I'll find out if I start at the beginning & this is an intriguing build. thanks, peace
It's just the framing and plywood on the exterior, without anything on it for the walls and the ceiling. The bottom has multiple coats of polyurethane varnish on it, just to seal the wood in case of a leak. I did fill voids and cracks with epoxy+silica filler, and then I just filled the cavities with foam and covered everything with thin panels. All of it is constructed in a way so the framing and paneling can "breathe" on the inside. The exterior is covered with waterproof PMF, which is, at the same time, a vapor barrier. Therefore, letting it breathe on the outside, like in traditional construction in North America, was not an option.
Impressive work, Mr Adrian..... we owned an antique restoration shop growing up so I love seeing people doing intricate woodworking, like you've done here! I asked about the wood b/c Im cheating & haven't seen before or after of your work AND I thought you possibly could have used fiberglass but I doubt that now. I see you as more of a pure woodworker but I do like the way you tied the lower into the sides on into the upper. I'm kinda busy but I'll be back since I sense you do things right & don't care if it's hard, you just want to do a good job & that I Like very much. TY for posting & I will be back to see you soon. thanks again, Sir.
Thanks for the detailed information. It helps tremendously when you are an artist. Fantastic paint job.
Thank you!
This is an amazing table!
Thank you!
This looks to be a great method of sealing and waterproofing a diy shower pan for an RV. Also provides a nice surface for non slip safety!
Never thought of that! If it works for the exterior of the boat, why shouldn't it work for a shower pan! Good idea Sir!
Absolutely blown away. The craftsmanship, the detail - it's phenomenal. I love how in depth you've documented the process and how much of the actual work you've shown. This was a great watch 🤘
I really appreciate that you took the time to write this positive and motivating comment! Thank you!!🙏
This is a lovely tabletop!!!
Thank you!!
You are unbelievable mate. Love your work and your philosophy
Thank you!!
You can get washers they look more like o rings for the roofing screws.
Yeah, that is what I used. Those roofing screws have a rubber washer and a metal washer.
I carve all the time im retired carpenter . I bought the 14 pcs carving set from temu cost 16.00 took the time and shapened the ones i like. Around 7 of them . If i bought the same style here it would cost around 30.00 ea. These cost 2.00 + each well worth it. Love them . Have to keep sharp. Great video
My frued bit set was a tungue and grove with a raised panel. It was 1/2 shafts. 6 bits around 200.00 dollars 30 years ago. Well worth the price but i used them a lot. I have bought a few from temu 1/4 inch shafts but they were pretty good . They will not do what the frueds did but thats ok.
That table is amazing. I must admit I thought it was brave having glass, but to see it lit up with those gears makes it a fabulous design feature. Well done.
Thank you!! I was worried too at first. But I hit the panel so many times during the build in a real bad way by accident, and it didn't break! Now I feel a lot more comfortable with it. Tempered glass can be surprisingly strong.
Beautiful design and craftsmanship!
Thank you!!
There’s even a poorer man’s fiberglass: wood glue and paper towels! I have worked miracles with this concoction. Thanks for your great content 👍
I love it when people think outside the box! I might have to give that combo a try myself! Thanks for commenting!
you could make your own tarp. the old fashioned with with fatwax. it's 50% wax and 50% oil melted in a pot and mixed together. you can apply it to a canvas drop sheet or even a bed sheet and it will be water proof. I'd have the top fully attached but leave the sides able to be rolled up. so you can see in all directions while getting some shade. and roll it down if needed.
Very good suggestion, I love it! 👍
great for where your located but the south texas sun murders pvc flotation in 1 to 2 years, and the tarps might be gone within the first year. people in the south need to stick to there is another inflatable floatation material but it is super expensive which would be outside your range i know.
Yeah, I can imagine, the sun can be surprisingly brutal. I would be curious about the other inflatable material you mentioned. Do you remember what it is called?
Beautiful
I'm curious if you still rather charge the battery pack. I would guess you need to do it daily if multiple people were using it?
Excellent question. It all depends on how many people are actually using it and how. It seems like it is being used more as a "top up" charging station, and so far, it lasts about a week with only a 10000mAh battery bank. (The LED lights consume next to nothing and are only on in the evening or on special occasions anyway). I could increase the battery bank size to something like 40000mAh, if I feel like it needs it in the future, or I could simply use a longer usb cable and plug it in the wall and live with a cable on the ground. There are options, and only time will tell what I eventually end up with.
Absolut fantastic...a table full of surprises .👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
You are amazing!!! That table is beautiful!!!!
Thank you! It sure was a ton of work, but it paid off in the end. Cheers!
What if you adapt it to oil drip if you had old used oil
Excellent idea. I probably would get into that if I would plan on staying here long term, but our plan is to move in a couple of years.
It is artistic genius using the perfectly machined transmission parts like that. Beautiful result!
Thank you!!
This is the BEST video I've seen in quite some time. Excellent use of mixed media. Those transmission parts give the piece an Art Deco/Steampunk flare that is so friggin rad!!! Well done Adrian
Wow Jered, thank you for that comment, it actually makes my day! 🙏
The finished table isn’t my cup of tea; I tend more to Shaker aesthetics but I do appreciate the level of craftsmanship. Nicely done!
Holy SHIT!! As a joke, I was going to comment that you should add a USB charging station to the table. But you were a step ahead of me and you took that shit to the next level!
😅 glad I still could surprise you!
Je compte pas comment tu fais de si beaux losange à main lever
It sure took a lot of patience! And without the template for the outlines, this would have been nearly impossible.
Je ne vois pas le modèle 🤷♂️
Pourquoi t’as deux contenant sur le toit ?
Hmm, I am not sure if I translated this right😬 I don't have any containers on the roof. If you mean the two openings, then one is for a ceiling fan, and the other one is for a hatch to access the roof.
Parce que le vidéo est en accélérer j’avais pas vue que c’était un contenant pour le pinceau et l’autre pour le rouleaux
What an excellent video. Thank you for sharing your research and process.
Thank you for the kind comment!🙏
