Headquartered at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado, Space Base Delta 1 falls under the direction of Space Operations Command for its day-to-day operational missions, while it receives higher headquarters support for its base operations missions from Air Force Materiel Command as the Air Force Servicing major command. The vast majority of SBD 1 personnel are Airmen serving under the leadership of Col. David Hanson and Chief Master Sgt. Sevin Balkuvvar. The SBD 1 team enables a wide range of missions executed from its power projection platform installations in direct support of national security, space operations, and homeland defense.

I gotta agree with others, this should hones be a staple in the whole siren education. I didn’t know what they meant when they said wavering tone. An I live next to a quarry so I hear the “blasting, get clear” signal all the freaking time. Always scares the ships outa me. Then I have the local fire house blaring fire alerts too. Neither is that tone, but the local nuclear plant….. monthly test is VERY close. But not quite
