Mark Knopfler wrote this song. His voice and guitar made the song moving and unforgettable. There have been covers of this song but the original by Dire Straits can never be outdone.
You are correct. He is the master of this soulful song. I kind of like what some others have done with it. The talk with God that he has in the song is timeless in message and in prayer. Peter Bevis rendition is a prime example. Took it to another beautiful place in this old mans heart....

We were writing cards for service members, and in the MHS someone said, "I think about you every day." Don't we? First, why didn't they have pictures like this, one of them read, "The Taliban is attacking us."
