After hearing the London Philharmonic perform Pomp & Circumstance led by Barenboim, I felt a totally different and stronger energy in the British performance. I don't think this Empire music is suited to Israel's temperament. That is not a criticism; it just isn't in the blood of Israel. But since Professor Vardi wanted to conduct it, so he has, and done well. Just not superlatively and not in the spirit that the London Philharmonic possessed naturally.

The first time I’ve seen this with dance and it’s wonderful. My personal preference is to play it uptempo and more joyful. Perhaps because that’s the way I first heard this piece and that’s what I am accustomed to.

Peter Warlock is a very interesting composer. This piece is perfectly complemented by the dignity of the dance.

What a charming piece! I knew the melody well, but never knew it was by Percy Grainger.

I never heard this before. The soloist has a beautiful voice. All the choir are superb.

The dancers are obviously ballet trained - notice the turnout of the feet. All lovely.

Very well done dance. Complements the music. The dancers truly look Israeli. A marvelous Israeli ballet danseur, trained at Vaganova, is in the corps de ballet of the Philadelphia Ballet. Yuval Cohen.
