Tuolumne River Rafting with All Outdoors - June 2024
Set to higher quality playback quality, (720, 1080p) thank you!
We all had a great experience whitewater rafting on the Tuolumne River on our 2 day trip. It was the first time for half our group. The guides were super fun and friendly, shoutout to Steve, Jack and Stella from All Outdoors.
We started with a 2 mile hike down to the river. We got in the water learned basic commands from our guide Steve. We had a rough start, getting stuck twice on Rock Garden but we locked in and found our rhythm. After a few rapids, we had lunch at Powerhouse, a relic from the gold rush age were they crushed quartz to extract gold. Our guides made a wonderful sandwich bar (Again Powerhouse was not filmed in the video due to the dead GoPro). Camping was super fun as we were served a protein packed dinner along an isolated strech of beach. We slept out in the stars and woke up to coffee and a hardy breakfast. The guides let us go out of the boat and swim some of the calmer rapids and jump in the water from several cliff jumps. We ate lunch and got towed out of Lake Don Pedro. We had a great time enjoying the nature of the Sierras. 10/10 would totally recommend.
Not much is needed to take on the adventure. A second pair of shoes is nice at camp as well as a change of clothes. Toiletries and a flashlight is recommended. The weather was pretty warm in the summertime, although bring a sleeping bag just in case. I would recommend to bring a tarp to lay out on the sand so the sleeping bags don't get sandy. Chairs are provided. Campfires are not permitted. They have a toilet at camp.
The Tuolumne was a great experience and you should definitely consider this adventure once in your life.

Hello! Thanks for the useful video. I also have to replace the seatpost on the Specializrd Turbo Tero 4.0 bike with a longer one. The installed TranzX Dropper, 30.9mm, 120mm, for a frame size L, is too short. For a height of 184 cm, about 2-3 cm is missing. Now you need to decide what size to buy, 150mm or 170mm. The only thing is that you didn’t say a word about what needs to be done with the seatpost control handle. Do I need to release the cable on the handle so that I can pull the seatpost out of the frame tube?
Pretty sure dirtbikes not allowed in the maricopa trail. The trail near anthem in nothing but sand from all the dirt bikes.
Those jumps are why I ride a bike !! Just enjoy them brother
How did these hold up long term? Just bought a pair because I love the look, but haven't seen many long term reviews.
They stay grippy for a very long time, it is a very good product. They have been on the bike for 2 years and still work.
rode this one downhill for 1st time today. I think it’s my favorite tunnel, super fun! Too bad it’s a closed trail. Not sure why.
@ 03:35 “the roller” Daniel , I was walking this section yesterday. Guy comes up behind me saying ‘I don’t think anyone ever rides this part, it’s not do-able’ and I said oh I’ve seen people clear it. And he’s like really, how!? I said level pedals and lots of ratcheting. I don’t think he believed me😆
My fave LA Costa trail .
Yo Eli! maybe do a video riding glider port downhill? 🔥
For some reason, my previous comments have been hidden by CZcams... I tried a couple variations, but they all got removed. Anyways, good video, full 2.7K resolution, much better quality than some of the previous ones, good job!
Thank you, we will try to continue to make the quality better. Thank you for your advice!
@@DustOrBustMTB Try putting a foam cover (called "windslayer") on the GoPro, to reduce wind noise. You can find them for cheap online and they work very well.
@@DustOrBustMTB I believe in a previous reply you told me you have a GoPro 7. If that's the case, here's my recommended settings for mountain biking, chest mount: 2.7K 30fps, SuperView, Auto stabilization, Protune ON, Shutter Auto, EV Comp -0.5, White Balance 5000k (or Auto), ISO Min 100, ISO Max 3200, Sharpness Medium, Color GoPro, RAW Audio OFF, Mics Stereo (this last one is very important).
@@120CCPM Thank you, we will try out those settings. Does the mic stereo setting help with the wind noise? It has been a problem for us for a while.
@@DustOrBustMTB Yes, in combination with the windslayer, the Stereo setting seems to work best, at least at regular mountain biking speeds. Wind mode is a bit too muffled in my opinion, but could maybe be an option on very windy days. Auto is the worst option because the GoPro will keep switching between Wind and Stereo automatically, and it's very noticeable. The windslayer makes a biggest difference, though. It works well, it's cheap, convenient, and - added bonus - it protects the camera body from dust and scratches.

back to uploading⁉
sick
Definitely worth the ride out there😮 to get away from your home base trails and expand your repertoire variety is the spice of life.
omg you guys’ voices are tripping me out 😂! But yeah cool vid. Good you were able to keep the same remote and cable. I had a heck of a time replacing that. But the post itself was a piece of cake. 😎
Hi guys, good video, but you desperately need a camera with modern optical stabilization. Anything from GoPro 7 (HyperSmooth) and above will be a major improvement. I also recommend you shoot at least in 2.7K: I won't go into the details, but when you upload 1080p content to CZcams they use a lower-quality encoder, and videos won't look nearly as good.
The way the videos are uploaded that lowers the quality. The videos are filmed in HyperSmooth and 2.7k. Possibly something with uploading from the GoPro app onto camera roll and to CZcams. If you have any other recommendations on how to upload please let us know. We appreciate the feedback!
@@DustOrBustMTB: if you shot this last video in 2.7K, then somewhere in your editing process you “lost” the original resolution, as the video that ended up on CZcams was 1080p. Also, are you sure you have a GoPro 7 or later model? GoPro 5 and 6 had stabilization, but it wasn’t nearly as good as Hypersmooth (introduced with the 7). Some of your other videos also look rather shaky, even in bright light (stabilization notoriously doesn’t work well in low-light conditions). Lastly, consider a chest mount vs. helmet, it shakes less and gives a nice perspective. I’m local, if I see you guys around on the trails (PQ, BM, etc), I’ll say hello!
Thank you for your suggestions. We uploaded the raw footage and did not edit anything. I'm pretty sure it is the direct uploading from the Camera Roll to CZcams that messes up the quality. We film on GoPro 7 Hypersmooth. We will try to figure out the quality issue, but we have tried before many times and are unsuccessful. Hope to see you out on the trails!!
gotta love crack mou- er i mean black mountain
🔥
Nice! cool too see you guys riding again.
Are these comfortable/soft?
They are not soft but are for intense riding so you have good grip. They are almost the same level of comfort all the other bike grips (probably the same one that you have now). New grips will always feel more comfortable as well. If you are casually riding and really want comfortable grips, there is most likely some casual very comfortable grips on Amazon.
thanks for keeping these videos posted. You guys were just kids then😂. But yeah I like your version of Boyscout trail the best because it shows the entire trail starting with the fire road. Thx!
No way bro posted

Please take the location name off your video. The area is heavily impacted and under scrutiny by MTB critics and land managers. We need to keep it off the radar, stop new trail building, and maintain what we have in a sustainable way. Thank you in advance for your cooperation! 👍
Yeah no problem, I'll be making the video private.
Poor camera quality, poor riding, skidding out on the trails - why even make a video? All it’s doing is creating problem for Builders
Hey man, please take trail names out of this video. We do a lot of work to keep this place on the DL and this isn’t helping. Teds has a lot of heat on it with rangers lately, this aids in getting things shut down
will do, going to make the video private
been a long minute since I’ve ridden this … wonder how it’s holding up. Will check it soon. But it’s gonna rain this week. 😮
just got the brendog odi death grips in white for my ebike. dope.

Good trail
Great trail
I was there a few weeks ago and the top of the mountain wasn’t open- is it open now?
Where the location??
Just a word of suggestion, if you use a go pro you should turn on the hypersmooth feature for the shakiness, but great video 👍👍
I'm stoked you wore your old grips the hell out before changing them.......and didn't just change them for looks like I did.....I got the odi yeti ones
Nice vid I recently got the same ones but in red (not the vans model)
Great video young men ! I just bought these for my SE bikes Big Ripper.

Cool trail run man! Looking a little dry, but fun none the less. :D
I love your videos! Why you looking at local San Diego trails?
@@notetrail3826 Came up my homepage dude 😀
Just found your videos, we ride the exact same trails in pq and del mar mesa. Where is jl19?
it is on the west side of black mountain
Rate grips 0-10?
There's plenty of grip. 7/10. You can hold on to your brakes all the time you come down and dirt won't slip. It's just the steepness that makes you go forward even when you use your brakes.
Too wide handlebars are not gud for you! More stress on your arms and harder to turn! All these 800 bars sold are bullshit size and should be cut down to 730-760 unless you has gorrilla long arms...
yeah i found out that we didn’t push them all the way so they aren’t that wide
Dude your name is so clever nice job!
